We were sitting in the hospital waiting room, doing exactly that. Waiting, for some answers. Jordan stared towards the water cooler, confused to what had happened. About an hour ago Charlie had gotten a phone call from Ellie's sister. She didn't know much. All she knew what that there was an accident and Ellie had been taken into emergency surgery.
The whole group sat there, wondering, waiting, would she make it through this?. Her sister was in tears, pacing around the room as Charlie sat beside Jordan, crying into her knees. Jordan looked around at the guys of the group. They all were acting strong but you knew inside they were worried. It felt like just yesterday that Charlie had spoken about Ellie had been taken into hospital. She hadn't eaten and her body began to shut down. It was almost as if the hospital was a second home for the Mankelow's. Jordan's heart went out to Abby. She'd just lost her father.. she couldn't lose her sister too.
"How is she?" Alex jumped up and said the doctor approached the group. He sighed. "She's stable. All her vitals are in good shape but she is unconscious. She could be in a coma for just a few hours or maybe even days.". Jordan knew that some coma patients stayed like that for years but the doctor wasn't going to say that. "What exactly happened?" This time it was that Abby that spoke. "Her car swerved off the road and hit an on coming truck.. It's a miracle she even made it pass impact to be honest. Test results have shown that her blood sugar levels were extremely low meaning her head would have been dizzy and made her lose concentration.". The doctor continued to speak about all of her numerous injuries but constantly reassured us that she would be okay. "You can go see her now if you like." The doctor said pointing in the direction of her room in intensive care.

When the doctor mentioned Ellie could be in a coma for days, Alex's head was spinning. He didn't want to think that it could even be possible. The waiting room was cold, and full of tears from all of her friends, including her sister. Alex wanted to cry as well, but figured he shouldn't. It might make things worse. He listened to the doctor explain what happened, and he felt sick to his stomach. The doctor said he could see her, and he walked inside.
It was scary, seeing her unconscious. She basically looked lifeless, which was something that Alex didn't even want to think about. He moved the chair closer to the side of her bed and sat down. "Ellie, I know you probably can't hear me, but we're all so scared. I'm freaking out..and i'm normally the one who has it altogether." he told her. "I just-" he stopped, choking from the tears coming. "I just want you to be okay." he said and lay his head on her shoulder. He grabbed her hand, even though he knew she wouldn't feel it. He hated this feeling, he just wanted her to be awake, so he could tell her how much she meant to him. He bit his lip and just stayed there.

Charlie had been crying since she got the phone call that Ellie was hurt. First, Ellie was in the hospital for her eating disorder, and now, this?! She couldn't come to grips with the fact that this was actually happening. She bit her lip to keep the tears from coming out, because the last thing anyone needed was more sadness. Charlie lifted her head from her hands, and looked at Abby. If Charlie was this worried, she couldn't imagine how Abby was feeling. She tried to hold her emotions together and comfort Ellie's little sister. She got up, and gave her a hug. "Everything is going to alright. Ellie is going to be just fine." she told her little sister as Alex went in to see Ellie. She turned back to see Jordan and everyone else just as distraught. She walked back over to where Jordan was, "I'm gonna get her a hot chocolate, if you could, just keep her company." she told him, and went to the cafeteria. She needed to keep it together for Ellie's sister.

Jordan looked over at Ellie. The whole idea of her being there in a coma was surreal. You looked at her and she looked peaceful, as if she were just sleeping but yet also so lifeless. Charlie approached him and said that she was going to get hot chocolate for Abby. When she returned, she handed her the cup and forced a smile on her face. "How are you doing?" Jordan whispered towards Charlie, knowing she must be distraught at the moment, "She'll be okay."

Jordan said she'll be okay and Charlie sighed. Normally, she was hopeful. But right now, she had no idea what would happen..she could lose her best friend. She bit her lip, again to keep from letting any more tears out. "I'm just trying to keep a brave face for Abby.." she told him, softly so abby wouldn't hear. "How do you know?" she asked. How would anyone know.

He kept his mouth shut because, he didn't know. No one did. Jordan's eyes went to Abby who seemed to be handling it better than what he would have if he had a sister in Ellie's position. As he looked around the room, he noticed that Sean was the only one not there. "Damn, I know they broke up pretty badly but you'd think Sean would want to be here right now." Jordan said to Charlie. That's when he noticed Alex. Holding Ellie's hand, fighting back tears, talking to her hoping she could hear. "Are they..?" Jordan trailed off knowing Charlie would know what he meant. Are they a couple?

James walked into the room silently, holding a bunch of roses. The way Ellie and James had last left things had been.. not good. But, right now Ellie was in need and he was going to be there for her the whole way. He rubbed Abby on the shoulder as he walked past to put the flowers on the table beside Ellie's bed. He looked around the room. Everyone was there. It was one of the first times he'd seen the whole group in one room without fighting. For once, everyone put their differences toward each other aside to be there for Ellie and Abby.

Charlie bit her lip when Jordan mentioned Sean not being there. "He's just going through some stuff." she told him. She didn't really know what to say. Jordan wouldn't understand either way. Charlie nodded her head, answering Jordan's question. "I think so.." she told him. Suddenly James walked through the door, and Charlie was surprised. She hadn't seen him in forever. "James?" she got up, to make sure it was him. "Wow..i haven't seen you in, awhile.." she told him. This was awkward.

"Yeah.. I know." He said to Charlie, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. "I thought I'd just give you all some space and distance after.. everything that's happened with all of us."

Charlie nodded her head. She was pretty positive that he thought everyone hated him. "Well..that's nice of you to come here right now." she tried to smile, given the circumstance. She didn't really know what to say, exactly.

"Don't worry my darlings the life of this room is here now." Victoria said storming into the room, chanel clutch bag in one hand, iPhone in the other. Her lively presence into the room didn't seem to be what many of them wanted. Ugh. Depressing losers, just what Victoria needed. Her attention went to Jordan. It was the only reason she was their in the first place. "You left so early this morning I didn't get a chance to say goodbye." Victoria said stroking her perfectly manicured fingertips down his cheek. Over the last couple of days, Victoria and Jordan had become some form of a secret item. An item that Victoria was no longer willing to hide. She pressed her lips against his and just as she wanted, she could feel many pairs of eyes on her. Jordan moved his hands down to her hips and pulled her in closer before realising his surroundings and breaking off the kiss. Charlie watched on in surprise, obviously waiting for some answers. "Oh, uh yeah.. me and Vic.. we're kinda a couple now." Jordan spoke softly. And now it was out. Everybody knew.

Charlie could feel her heart beating faster and faster as Jordan and Vic kissed right in front of everyone. She was done being strong about this..all she wanted to do was cry because everything was breaking down. And she couldn't believe that she actually let Jordan play her like that, pretending to still be so in love with her at the game, and then actually get an 'I forgive you.' She shook her head, especially when he uttered the words.. we're kind of a couple now Charlie tried not to make it seem like a big deal, but she couldn't help it. She couldn't fake a 'i'm happy for you' because honestly, who would want to after all the hell Vic put her through. "Oh?" she said surprised. "Well..good for you two." she said, hoping her acting was believable.

"Looks like someone's a little bit jealous." Victoria noted, almost beaming from how jealous Charlie was. Victoria let go of Jordan and walked towards Ellie's beside. "How's your little friend doing?" She asked in Charlie's direction, "Is she gonna die?". No tone of sympathy in her voice.

Charlie bit her lip, and tried to ignore Victoria. Then she went over to Ellie. "Get away from her." she told her, How could she be this cruel, especially in this moment? Alex looked pissed too. "Get out!" she yelled. "I don't care if you're Jordan's new girlfriend, you and him, can go!" she yelled. She didn't care who was around and she didn't care who heard her. So much for their friendship.

"Charlie, I-.." Jordan was about to talk but Charlie cut him off with an angry glare. Something that didn't often come across Charlie's face. "Come on, Vic." She grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the door. "Let me know if she wakes up.". And with that, they were gone. Leaving Charlie, James, Abby and Alex in the room.
