"Oh of course. I see why you're sort of worries now." He told her. "But I'm sure she has a good head on her shoulders." He told her to try to make her feel better. He took a bite of his pasta. "This is really good." He smiled.

She smiled as she could tell that Alex was trying to make her feel better. Almost on cue, the front door swung open and in walked Abby. She walked into the kitchen and saw there was pasta so she made herself a bowl. "Who are you? Never seen you around before." Abby commented towards Alex. She sighed and frowned at Alex. Her expression read 'forgive her rudeness'.

Alex was kind of surprised to see Abby walk through the door, but he was happy cause Ellie was probably a lot less worried. She was, not as nice as he hoped, but he figured it was just cause he was a stranger. "I'm Alex." he told her.. "You must be abby. I've hear a lot about you." he smiled.

"Oh, Alex, I've heard a lot of about you too." Abby grinning, winking towards Ellie. Ellie rolled her eyes and jumped up and said, "Okay, just go to your room Abby.". She laughed but did as Ellie said. She turned to look at Alex and apologised. "Sorry. She's just going through a moody teen 'I hate the world' phase."

Alex laughed. "Haha, no it's fine. She seems cool! Minus the slight attitude." he told her. "Are you guys close?" he asked.

Ellie laughed then sighed. She carried the now two empty pasta dishes and put them in the dishwasher. "We were close." She told him. "But after my dad died.. not anymore." Ellie said, now looking at him. It made her sad to think about what a happy family they were before the death of their father. They'd just adored him and to have him murdered, life would never be the same. "They found out who did it." Ellie's eyes were back to the ground, caught up in the memory. "The murder.." She explained, "I haven't told anyone but just before we went to the cabin.. I got a phone call from the police. They found new evidence and my mom's been taken to court. I have to go to court tomorrow a-as a witness. I was the one that found him and everything.". The mother who had also left Abby and herself was more than likely the murder of her father. How could she? She could feel the tears filling up underneath her eyelids and it took everything inside of her not to let them flow. "I-I was gonna go alone.. but, do you think you could come with me? Just for support and stuff.." Ellie looked up at him.

Alex didn't know what to say when Ellie brought up her father. What do you say to someone other than I'm sorry? "I'm really sorry, Ellie." he told her, and hugged her from behind. He kept listening to her speak, and looked shocked once she told him who the murders might be. "Your mom?" he asked completely shocked, once again. "Of course I'll go with you. Everything will be okay." he told her to try and help.

She sighed and turned around so that they were facing face to face. Her face was leaning on his shoulder and Ellie let the tears fall down. Every other time she had spoken of her father she was able to hold it iin. This time, she couldn't. She pulled her face away slightly looking back at all the tear drops on his shirt. She laughed a little and looked up at him and apologised.

Alex held her while she cried and subtly laughed when she apologized about the tear drops on his shirt. "Ellie..don't worry about that." he laughed a little, and cupped her face in his hands. He looked into her eyes, and kissed her softly then hugged her. He couldn't believe all she has been through and it killed him that he couldn't do anything to help.

She forced out a smile so that he wouldn't worry. She didn't want anyone bothering themselves worrying about her, especially not Alex. He had better things to worry about. "How's everything been with you?" She asked, looking up at him.

"Uh..things have been alright." he explained. He really didn't need to say anything to worry Ellie. "My mom loves it here, so that's good. I think things are finally looking up." he told her. Truth be told, his mom did love it here, but she wasn't quite over the divorce. He saw his dad's car at the house the other day, but passed it and kept driving. He did not want to see him.

She bit her lip. It sounded like there was something that he holding back from her. She looked him in the eyes. "You know you can talk to me about anything? I spill all my problems onto you, I want to hear yours." She smiled. Even though most of the time she hid most of her problems from him, he didn't need to know that.

"Honestly, everything is fine. If something was really wrong, I would tell you. I promise." he smiled, reassuring her. And that was true..his dad just stopping by really wasn't that big of a deal. "But same for you, Ellie.." he said. "Absolutely anything you're holding back..you can tell me." he smiled softly.
