She smiled and shook her head. "It's fine I understand. I only woke up about an hour ago so I was asleep all that time." She laughed. "You must be getting tired. You can go home if you like?"

Elle shook her head and he followed her into the kitchen, sitting down at one of the chairs surrounding the kitchens island bench. She rummaged through the kitchen cupboards to find that they only had the bare minimum. Ellie definitely needed to do the weekly shopping. "Is pasta okay?" She asked with a shrug of her shoulders.

Alex nodded. "Yeah, sounds good." he smiled. "Although I feel like i should be the one making you food. You're the injured one, remember?" he told her.

How could she forget?. "It's okay, it's only simple.". She got out a big pot from the cupboard underneath the sink. Ellie filled it with water and then put it on the stove to boil.

"Okay." Alex said as he watched her prepare the pasta. He realized it was super quiet in the house. "Is your sister still out?" she asked.

She took a seat on the chair next to him and rested her head on her elbow that was propped up on the bench. Ellie nodded her head. "She's probably sleeping at her boyfriends.". She sighed, "..Can't control that kid. I tell her that she's not allowed to sleep at his house cause man, the girl is 15! and she just throws it in my face I'm not her parent.". After the death of her father, Ellie had been given legal guardianship of her younger sister, Abby but her life was just spinning out of control. She was still in that I hate the world kind of phase. Having no parents was taking its toll on her and if her boyfriend helped ease that a little bit, Ellie didn't have the heart to go full guardian on her and stop her from spending the night with him.

"Oh wow.." Alex said. "Spending the night like, just staying over. Or 'spending the night?" he asked, knowing Ellie knew what he meant. Alex actually felt kind of bad for Ellie, how was she supposed to control a 15 year old?

Ellie laughed slightly. "I'm not sure. I'm too afraid to ask..". She was better off not knowing. Thinking of her baby sister 'spending the night'... no.

Alex put his arm around Ellie's neck and kissed her cheek. "I'm sure she's making the right decision.." he told her. "I mean, even if she doesn't act like it...THAT is always a big deal." He explained.

She nodded her head and forced out a smile. "I hope you're right." She muttered. Ellie looked over at the pot on the stove and saw that it was ready for the pasta to go in. She grabbed the pasta jar off of the bench and poured some of the contents into the pot.

Alex smiled as he watched Ellie cook. "Mmm, smells good." He told her as she finished making the pasta and put it into bowls. "How long has she been with her boyfriend?" He asked her.

Ellie thought back to when she'd caught Abby with her boyfriend. It was around the time she was with Sean. "About three or four months now, I think." She looked up at Alex, "maybe longer.". She grabbed out two forks passed them in the bowls before handing one to Alex. She took a seat back beside him. "It's her first real boyfriend so y'know she's all crazy in love."
