Ellie bit her lip, trying not to laugh at Charlie making faces at her from across the kitchen. "Yeah! I hope that's okay." She said to Sam with a smile on her face. She quickly looked him up and down but tried not to be obvious about it. Sure, he's very cute but even if he did have a crush, could she go there?. He wasn't just some guy, he's the brother of her best friend. Internally she sighed and tried not to even let her mind go to that kind of complicated.

"Of course it's okay. You know we love having you around." he grinned. "So are you going to the University here?" He asked. He wanted to somehow talk to her, privately, but it was too awkward with Charlie around.

It all seemed just casually friendly, Ellie noted. Nothing crush like. "Sure am!" She told him. "What about you?". She knew that Sam was a bit older but he'd only just came to Kingswood so it was possibly he'd decided on college.

"I am." he let out a smile. "I took a year off school to focus on music, but that all kind of got jumbled with everything that went on. I think it's about time I have a backup plan." he explained. "So you'll probably be seeing me more than you want to." he smirked, and laughed.

"Hey, that's great. I love being around you!" "You'll be the one who gets sick of me in the end." She smiled. Ellie looked over at Charlie who had started preparing the food. "Want me to help?". It was a simple meal but it could be made easier if someone was helping.

Charlie was clearly eavesdropping. She could clearly tell that Sam was into Ellie, but she had to find out for sure. "Uh, yeah. I think I'm gonna grab a movie from upstairs! Do you think you guys can finish it off?" she asked. She figured if she left them alone, her brother would finally gain some courage.

With narrow eyes, she watched her best friend run off to get a movie. She was clearly trying to get Ellie to spend some alone time with her brother. Awkward. Sam took Charlie's place in the kitchen while Ellie got out the plates and cutlery and set the table for them.

Sam stood in front of the Mac and cheese and added in the bacon that she had previously chopped up. "Does Charlie seem a little..weird to you?" He asked. He hadn't seen his sister all smiley and giggly for months. Not like he wanted her sad, but it was just odd.

"Odd?" Ellie questioned, "Like how?".

"I-I don't know. I mean, she seems herself again, which is now odd I guess because she hasn't been for like 3 months." he explained, and realized he probably wasn't making any sense. "She's just giggly and bubbly. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just odd." He finished. "Just ignore what I said, I'm making no sense." he chuckled and stirred the mac & cheese.

She narrowed her eyes and looked over at Sam with a laugh, a bit confused by what he had said. The conversation that Charlie had with Ellie earlier in the car rang back to her and got her curiosity peeking. "So, tell me Mr Hudson, what's new your in life?" "Got all the ladies lining up?" She grinned.

"Definitely not." he said and poured the mac & cheese into bowls. "I'm pretty much hopeless at this point." he chuckled slightly. "How about you? All the guys just dying for you to look their way?" he asked, and set the bowls down onto the place mats.

"What a joke." Ellie laughed, "I can't even keep the attention of the guy who was pretty much my boyfriend so no, no guys."

"Well just so you know...it was his loss." he smiled, and Charlie came downstairs with the movie in hand. They all sat down at the table, and started eating their mac & cheese. "So what'd i miss?" Charlie asked, and Sam took a bite of his food so he didn't have to answer.

Ellie gave him a smile and thought about what he'd just said. It seemed friendly enough, nothing to suggest he had a crush like Charlie thought he did. Once they sat down, she smirked at Sam from across the table as she noticed he ate on purpose to avoid talking "Nothing really. Just talked." Ellie told Charlie. She held in a laugh as she probably thought Sam was confessing his love whilst she was gone. Ellie looked down a took a bite over her food to stop herself from giggling.
Dinner was quickly over and Ellie assisted Sam in taking the dishes over to the sink whilst Charlie went into the family room to pop in the movie. "So, Charlie seems to be all weirded out by the two of us y'know.". She was met by a confused look from Sam. "She seems to think you have a crush.". As soon as she did it, she was washed over with the feeling of regret. Did she want him to have a crush on her? What if he just laughed in her face at the idea of it?. Instead, Ellie laughed, "Don't worry. I know it's not true. She's just silly." and she walked back to Charlie before Sam got a chance to give the 'You're really nice but you're an idiot if you think I like you' speech. She had now planned to avoid him in all ways possible.
