"You so did that on purpose! I'm not giving you anything!" she laughed, but stopped when Ellie talked about her sister. "What? What happened?" she asked, very worried.

"Nothing in particular happened. She just realised she'd rather live with her boyfriend than me. I'm her guardian but I couldn't stop her. She'd just throw back in my face that I'm not our mom or dad and I should stop trying to be.." She sighed. She looked up at the scoreboard, currently Ellie was in front but the game wasn't over yet. "Go ahead. Have your turn."

Charlie glared at Ellie for making her continue to play. She absolutely sucked, and Charlie knew it too. She picked up the ball and threw it at the pins, knocking down about 8 pins. "Okay, not too bad." she admitted and sat down. "I'm sorry about Abby. That's like the last thing you needed. But hey, I think she'll eventually figure out that her boyfriend isn't all that and come back. Ya never know."

"Maybe. I don't really know anymore.. they charged my mom for the murder about a month ago and that's when my relationship with her vanished. I think finally getting a verdict like that.. she just needed to get away from the family.."

Charlie's eyes widened. She had no idea. She had been so wrapped up in her own problems, that she didn't think about that. She immediately pulled Ellie into a hug. "I'm so sorry. i had no idea" she told her. "I think I understand now. How are you holding up with that?"

Ellie was glad that she and Charlie had their friendship back. Once they pulled out of the hug, she sighed. "Honestly, I'm okay. It's hard.. but when they first had her as a suspect, I kind of prepared myself for her to be guilty." "She's the woman that gave birth to me but she's not my mom. I'm just glad she's locked away and so is that crazy stalker guy. Everyone's safe now."

Charlie knew Ellie was just trying to keep strong, but really was about to crumble at any moment. "I can't imagine how that must feel and how awful that must be. But just know you have your friends who care about you..so SO much." she assured her. "Yeah..I'm happy that whole stalker guy is locked up and gone for good. You shouldn't have to go through all of that."

She smiled. "I know. Without you guys, I'd probably need to be locked up into a mental home by now. I wouldn't be able to handle any of this..".

Charlie smiled. "Always here for ya. No matter what." she grinned, and looked at the score board. "So it looks like you won. How are you so freaking good at this game?!" she asked. "Do you wanna head back to my house? Sam just requested my signature mac and cheese." she said and held up her phone.

"I mean not to brag.But it is pretty freaking delicious." she copied Ellie's hair flip and walked out to the car. As Ellie was driving, Charlie was dying to spill something that she may or may not be freaked out about. "Hey, I kinda have to tell you something before we go inside." she laughed a bit.

"Well...my brother, he's been asking a lot about you. At first I thought he was just being friendly, but I'm pretty positive he has a massive crush on you." She admitted and covered her mouth with both of her hands. She was honestly intrigued to hear Ellie's response.

Ellie's shoulders relaxed and her face went from concern to a huge smile. She let out a small chuckle. There's no way this could be true. "Are you sure you're not just over thinking it?" "He is a really friendly guy. I'm sure it's really nothing.". Although she thought Charlie was totally wrong, she made a mental note to observe how Sam acted around her.

"I am so sure, you have no idea. This isn't something I want to be right about. I mean, it's kinda strange." she let out a small laugh. "But okay..whatever you say." she said, taunting her best friend and smirking. They got out of the car and walked into the house. Sam heard the door shut and yelled "Finally! I'm starving!" he walked down the stairs, and saw Ellie was with her. He grinned. "Hey Ellie. You joining us?" Charlie was over in the kitchen making faces at Ellie, which I'm sure she appreciated.
