His jaw dropped a bit. "What is that supposed to mean?" he continued laughing. "I'm good..but if I ever want to read a girly magazine, I'll let you know." he joked.

She grinned, "Oh come on. Don't tell me you don't want to know what type of girl you are inside!" Ellie said reading one of the titles on another magazine she had lying on her side table. She flipped open the magazine and started asking Alex a round of questions - which were all suited for a girl answering - which Alex answered sarcastically. Ellie reached the bottom of the page and read it out, "Ooh. You're a girly girly. 'You know what you want and you go for it, girl! When your inner sassy comes out, you have the football team at your feet. You mainly wear pink and you'd never be caught dead in anything but the latest trends. There is only one way to describe you. Fab-u-lous!!". She ended up in a fit of laughter after reading such corny-ness.

Alex sat in the chair next to Ellie's bed laughing hysterically. "My inner-sassy?" he questioned, laughing."I- I feel like my manhood has been taken from me." he laughed again, a bit embarrassed. "

"Aw, poor you." Ellie pouted sarcastically. The pair spent the rest of the night flipping through her girly magazines, giggling at how corny and lame some of the articles were. Things with Alex were so simple and natural, Ellie realised. She felt like she could be herself completely around him without having to worry of what he thought. He'd go along with it and he'd act as silly as her.
The end of the night drew closer and visiting hours were over. Leaving her with a peck on the lips, Alex promised to the return the next morning. She smiled happily to herself as her thoughts went once again back to Alex. Her feelings for Alex were getting deeper and deeper. She could feel herself falling for him even harder even harder every second she was with him. Ellie just hoped that it was the same for him.

Honestly, Alex didn't want to leave Ellie, knowing the condition she was in. But visiting hours were over and she was forced to. Alex had a hard time sleeping that night, and woke up early the next morning to bring flowers and a get well card to Ellie.
Alex drove to the hospital and walked down the halls to where Ellie's room was. He peaked in to see that she was still asleep and he felt rude waking her. He walked in quietly, put the card down and the flowers on top of it. He sat in his chair fiddling with his phone until she woke up.

Ellie stirred in her sleep as she heard someone enter the room. She could feel the heat of the sun glistening on her skin so she guessed it was sometime in the morning. Her eyes slowly fluttered open to see Alex sitting back in his chair, as he'd never left. To her left she could see a bunch of flowers sitting on the side table. "Are these from you?" She mumbled softly, half asleep.

Alex looked towards Ellie as she mumbled to him. He smiled. "Yeah, I just brought them a little bit ago." He told her. "Are you feeling any better?" He asked her.

She forced out a sleepy smile to spread across her face. "Thanks.". Ellie tried to sit up a little, wincing as she felt the pain of her accident. Her ribs hurt and so did her shoulder blades but she lied, not wanting to worry Alex. "Yeah, much better." Ellie smiled.

Alex smiled as Ellie woke up. Then he noticed her wince a bit, and thought he should probably call a nurse in. "Are you positive?" he asked.

She looked over at the time. The nurses came in every hour or so to top up her meds so she knew that they would be in soon meaning Ellie could continue to act fine. "Yeah," She smiled. "So what are your plans for today?".

He nodded his head slightly, still unsure of Ellie's response. "Uhm..I actually have no idea. I have work today, but not til later on." he explained. "What about you? Are they letting you leave today?" he asked.

Ellie grinned when he asked her if she got to leave today. "Yeah, they said after lunch time I should be able to go.". She looked at Alex, "Although, I won't be able to drive myself home.. Are you able to take me? Or do you have work?". She looked over at the time, it was just past 11:00 am so she still had a few hours in there.

Alex immediately smiled when she said she could home. "Yeah, of course. Work isn't until 5 so I'm good." he grinned. "Do you have to have lunch here?" he asked her. "Cause if you want, we can go someplace. The food's probably better than what the hospital gives you." he joked.

The nurse had come in right on time just as Alex finished his question. As she was topping up her meds, Alex repeated the question but this time to the nurse. "Hmm, I'll go check with what your surgeon thinks,". She had been talking to Ellie but the nurses gaze kept flickering towards Alex. "Your body is functioning and responding well so I think you should be fine to go a little earlier.". A smile played at the corner of the nurses lip as she looked back at Alex once more before leaving the room. "Wow." Ellie couldn't help but comment with a laugh. Alex looked confused as he was totally oblivious to the obvious attraction Ellie's nurse had into him. "She wants you!". She laughed again and realised that deep down a little jealousy was there.

Alex was literally taken back by what Ellie said, and laughed a lot. "What?!" he said and kept laughing. "You're too observant. I would have never said that." he smirked and tried to hold in his laugh.
