Raya really didn't want to move to Kingswood in the first place, but living with her parents wasn't an option. She's already 19, and is starting college soon! She got into a good college just outside of Kingswood, so she found a cheap, kind of crappy, house to live in. She got out of the taxi with her two duffel bags and guitar case, and walked up the stairs. She slid her key in, twisted it, and the door opened. She had a strange gut feeling about this place. Being so far away from her family, not knowing anyone here. She's not very social... at all. She put her bags on the floor and looked around. The only piece of furnishing there is, is kitchen appliances. Guess that means she needs to go furniture shopping later. She sighed, and walked back outside in the hot California air. She sat on her porch steps, and looked around the neighborhood. Kids on bikes, dogs running around. It's at least a nice neighborhood. She looked down at her hands, playing with them. She doesn't know how she's going to fit in here, but she can at least try. Right?

Charlie was going for a run- Something she usually had to force herself to do. But with everything going on from her grandma being sick, to the drama between all her friends, she needed to clear her head. Charlie closed her eyes as she was running, and tripped over her own feet. "Such a klutz." Charlie mumbled and got up. She looked to her right to see a girl sitting on her porch. Charlie sighed out of embarrassment. "Sorry you had to see that." she said, laughing at herself. She looked at the girl once again, she didn't look very familiar. "I'm sorry for asking, but are you new here?" she asked her.

Raya looked up, hearing something that sounded like a fall. She looked just in time to see the girl get up and say something to herself. She didn't know if she should ask if she's okay, or just pretend like she didn't see her. She was surprised when she talked to her, she's not used to people willingly talk to her. "No, no, that's okay." She laughed. "I am, I just moved here from Nashville. I actually just got here, not really sure what to do, or what there is to do here." She replied.

When the girl mentioned she was from Nashville, Charlie was so jealous. That was one of the place she wished she could go. "That's so amazing!" Charlie told her. "How come you moved here?" she asked.

"I'm starting college in the fall, and figured I should get used to this town. I really love Nashville though, I miss it so much already. I'm Raya, by the way." She said, forgetting to introduce herself. "How long have you lived here?"

"Oh, that's great! What are you studying?" she asked. "Nice to meet you." she smiled. "I'm Charlie." she told her. "I've only lived her for about 2 months, it's..interesting." she told her.

"Nice to meet you too!" She smiled back. "Have you meet people here? Are they nice?" She asked, nervous. "I'm studying music education, because I wanted to do something with music, and figured why not teach what I know best, you know? I think it'll be fun." She said. "Are you in high school still, or out of high school?" Raya asked, she couldn't really tell how old she looked.

"This city's just really different. Some people are nice, but there are the stereotypical 'mean girls' here." she bit her lip. "That sounds like a cool idea! So, you're really into music, how long have you sang for?" she asked her. "I'm in high school." she said shamefully, wishing she was out of there.

"Great..just what I want." She sighed. "Ever since I was in diapers." Raya laughed. "My mom has a bunch of home videos of me standing up on the table, singing my heart out. I've always loved it I guess." She said. "Ah.. I'm sorry. How many more years until you're done?" Raya asked her.

"No worries, they're in high school. So you will most likely never have to see them." she reassured her. Charlie laughed a little bit. "That's adorable!" she grinned. "Music is amazing, though. I know why you're so passionate about it!" she said. "A year and a half.." she bit her lip. Right now, the last thing she wanted was to be at that school.

"Right?!" She laughed. "Do you sing or play guitar or anything?" She asked, curious. Raya is surprised that she actually met someone already, who's not stuck up or mean. "I hated high school. I'm so happy to be out." She said.

As always Charlie was hesitant to tell her about music, but she was a musician as well, so there was probably nothing to worry about. "I sing & play guitar." she smiled. "How long have you been playing and singing?" she asked Raya, before she listened to her tales of high school. "Honestly, I just wish it was over." she bit her lip. "Just be happy that you're not going to high school here ." she laughed a bit.

"Thats awesome!" Raya smiled. "Singing, pretty much my whole life. And I've been playing guitar ever since i was 7, my grandpa taught me how to play and I guess I just kept teaching myself!" she said. "What about you? How long have you been singing and playing?" Raya asked. "Is school that bad here?" She asked.

"Your grandpa taught you? Awh that's so cute." Charlie smiled. "Well that's so amazing! I definitely haven't been playing that long." she told her. "I started about a year and a half ago, but I've been singing since i could talk." she laughed a bit. "For me it is. It's a loooong story." she said, sparing Raya all the horrible details.

"If you ever need any pointers or anything about the guitar, i can probably answer them! Although i'm sure you've got it down pretty good." Raya laughed a little. When she said school has been bad for her, flashbacks came through Raya's mind. "I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you at least have good friends there?" She asked.
