"Yeah..sounds good." she said and the group headed back to the cabin. Once they reached the cabin they all walked in and sat around the table, in the family room. Jordan shuffled the deck of cards and they started to play. Charlie's mind was all over the place so she was't really playing that well.

After the first had was over, Charlie accompanied Ellie into the kitchen to get some snacks and drinks to put on the table. Placing some pretzels in a bowl, Ellie said quietly, "You alright?" "You and Jake didn't have a fight or anything, did you?".

Charlie helped put the snacks together. "Not necessarily." she said. "But, that hug he gave me..it just felt like more than just a goodbye, cause he was leaving." "If that makes any sense.." she added.

Jordan had to admit that after Jake left, he sorta felt a little bit guilty. Mainly because he could see that Charlie felt bad about it. Ellie and Charlie returned to the table with sodas, pretzels, dips and nachos in hand. They placed the food in the middle of the table so everyone could reach it and Charlie gave everyone a soda. Jordan dealt the next hand and waited for his left - Charlie - to have her shot.

Charlie dealt in her hand, kind of unsure what she was doing. The cards she put down happened to not be that great. "I think i should sit out and just let you guys play." she let out a small laugh.

Ellie shook her head, eyes down on the cards in her hand, "Definitely not. We didn't sit out of volleyball when you put us all to shame!"

"Please. You're just as good!" she told Ellie as she decided which cards to put down. Charlie observed the game a little more to try to get the hang of it. She looked at the clock, "What time were we going to the picnic?" she asked the group.

She looked at the clock. "About an hour or so would be a good time to go." Ellie said not realising how much time had passed since the volleyball game. "I'll start packing the basket." Ellie said shuffling and put her cards randomly back into the deck. "You guys can keep playing.". She looked at Charlie, "Wanna help or do you want to keep playing?" She asked with a smile.

"I wanna help!!" she said as soon as Ellie offered. Charlie put the cards back in the deck. "Sorry fellas, It's just you guys now." she said and walked into the kitchen. "Alright what do we wanna bring or make?"

Ellie opened up the fridge and pantry to see that it was some what empty. She sighed and grabbed her keys off the counter. "Looks like we have to make to the grocery store.". Luckily Ellie knew that about 10 minutes away there was a small town that had a grocery store. Charlie told the boys were they were going and then jumped into the car.
Ellie and Charlie waltzed through the aisles trying to decide what to bring for the picnic. In there basket they had already picked out various kinds of potato chips and candy. "Should we get some stuff to make sandwiches or something?" She said, unsure of what to get.

"Guess who's in Kingswood?"
Chris scrolled through his contact list until he found Ellie's phone number before pressing send. Chris Blight and Ellie Mankelow had been best friends since they were five years old. Even when Ellie had moved to Kingswood with her dad, the pair were always in contact with each other through skype, email, text messages, phone calls, letters, all the works. Every type of communication possible they used. They were inseparable. That was until this year. This year was a year of heartbreak for both of them. Ellie lost her father and Chris lost his brother. After that staying in touch just became.. hard. Chris was determined to keep his friendship alive so for months he pressured and nagged his parents to let him move or at least visit Kingswood until finally, they said yes.
Chris had swung by Ellie's place and had already gotten the news from Abby that she was out of town at their family cabin with some of her friends. He was glad to hear that she was out enjoying herself but he decided to be nosy and go and interrupt. He'd reach the door of the cabin and sent the text to Ellie. Knocking on the door, Chris had expected for Ellie to excitedly open the door. Instead, he found himself standing in front of three guys with no sign anywhere of his friend in the room. "Hey, uh, is Ellie here somewhere?" He said awkwardly to the strangers.

"Yeah, sandwiches are good." she said as she waltzed down the aisle looking at different food."We can get potato salad, and fruit salad." she suggested and stopped at the deli to get some of that. After the cart was pretty full, they figured they were good for the picnic. As they waited in line, Charlie turned to Ellie. "Okay, so can I just say how adorable you and Alex are??" she smiled, and laughed a little. "I mean..really!"

She grinned at Charlie. "I feel weird about things though right now. I mean, we both like each other but we haven't been.. close long enough to sort of jump into a relationship so I feel like we're in this sort of awkward non place somewhere between friends and something more." Ellie sighed. Her phone buzzed and she pulled it out of her bag expecting it to be the hungry boys with a request. When she read the text, she practically screamed causing everyone to turn around and look at her. She showed Charlie the text. Charlie was someone who she had told every detail of her friendship with Chris. "I can't believe he's here!". They paid for their items and went back to the car. She texted him.
"OH MY GOD WHATT?! BUT IM NOT IN KINGSWOOD RIGHT NOW. IM AT MY FAMILYS CABIN. YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS. COME. PLEASE."
She sent back to him, only to get another reply just a few seconds later. Ellie looked up at Charlie after reading the text and grinned, "He's here. At the cabin." "You finally get to meet Chris!". She knew Charlie and Chris would hit it off. They were similar it so many ways and Ellie adored them both.

"What?" she asked her friend as she explained the relationship between her and Alex. "Are you serious? He adores you." She smiled. "I'm just waiting for him to ask you out already!" she laughed a bit. When Ellie screamed, she almost gave Charlie a heart attack. Now she had to know what Ellie was screaming about and she was pretty shocked once she told her. "He's here? That's crazy! How long has it been since you saw him last?" she asked.

The girls were in the car driving back to the cabin now. She thought back to the last time she'd seen him. "Well, he came over for my dads funeral but I only saw him briefly but it's been about four years since he came for a proper visit.". Although, through those four years they'd made sure to keep in touch through social networking. Always.
As soon as the girls arrived back at the cabin, Ellie practically bolted towards the door. Chris turned around and almost tackled him as she threw a hug at him. His arms wrapped around him and she felt herself get teary. She hadn't realised how much she had missed him until that moment. "I missed you so much." Ellie said. She felt his face turn into a bigger smile above her as he kissed her head - like he always did. The relationship that Chris and Ellie had was like a brother/sister best friend one. Nothing romantic. Ever. Even though may people speculated it was. It was only when Ellie realised she had left Charlie with the food did she let go of the hug and duck back outside to help bring inside the bags. They placed them in the kitchen and then Ellie introduced him to everyone. "Chris, this is Charlie, Sean, Alex and Jordan." She said pointing to each person as she said their name. Her gaze then went to the group. "And this is Chris. He's been my rock ever since I was five."
