Ellie jumped up to spike the ball over the net just as Charlie had done earlier. Once again, their team won the point. Jordan's face was priceless. He had a huge competitive nature and you could see how badly he wanted to win. It just made the victory that Ellie was sure her team - thanks to Charlie - would nab that much sweeter.
The group decided to all take a break for five minutes. They weren't really playing by the proper rules of the game, they made up their own. Team with the highest amount of points once Alex's phone timer went off, wins the game. At their 'half time break', Ellie, Charlie and Sean were way in front. The Mr Hot Shot Basketball players were getting their asses beaten.

Alex was surprised that Ellie, Charlie and Sean were so good. "Okay, we need to step up our game." He said to Jake and Jordan. He realized they weren't really working together, he thought about saying something but decided not to. No point in making things even more awkward. "we just gotta work together." He said as try walked back into the court. Jordan served the ball, Charlie hit it back and Alex spiked it. "yes!" Alex yelled and gave the guys a high five.

Jordan could feel the competitiveness pumping through his veins. He wanted to win and there was no way he was going to let two girls and Sean beat him. Alex was right when he said that they needed team work. Jordan stepped up his gave and through the pair of them - Jordan and Alex - they were able to get their score back up there. Jordan just made sure that he left Jake out of it. They didn't need him. He could go run along the sidelines with pom poms cheering for Char.

Charlie was really into the game when she realized that Jake was being completely excluded..and she knew exactly who was behind it. She bit her lip..seeing Jake so outcasted like that was not something she wanted to see. Charlie watched Sean serve the ball and the ball went back and forth. This game needed to end.. Charlie went to hit the ball when she landed wrong and 'twisted' her ankle. She sat on the ground rubbing her ankle, trying to egg on the fact that it was hurting. She pretended to have trouble standing up and spoke "Uhm, I can barely stand." she told Ellie and Sean disappointed. "Maybe Jake can take my spot?" she asked. "That would make it a bit more fair." she explained. Hopefully this would work.

Ellie frowned a little bit, annoyed that her star playing had an injury. "Then that'd make the team un even..". She looked over at the group and then back at Charlie. "W-We could stop if you like." She suggested with a smile.

The fact that Charlie all of the sudden did an injury as soon as Jordan's team started to play well without Jake seemed suspicious. The game ended and everyone walked over to the benches. Jordan watched Charlie who was walking absolutely fine to the bench. He sat beside her. "Miraculous recovery?.". She looked confused as to what he was talking about. Jordan pointed to her 'twisted' ankle.

Crap! Charlie bit her lip and looked the other direction to avoid this confrontation. She saw jake across the way and turned to Jordan. "Y'know, Maybe if you wouldn't have excluded Jake..I wouldn't have had to 'twist' my ankle." she told him and rolled her eyes a bit.

His jaw dropped a little bit as if to say he was shocked that she could ever assume that he would do such a thing. "I did nothing! It's not my fault he couldn't play." "He had his chances to go for the ball but he wouldn't so we had to take over."

Alex walked over to Ellie. "Okay, If Charlie wouldn't have sprained her ankle, we SO would have won!" he laughed a bit and hugged her. He was facing where Jordan and Charlie were. "What's going on over there?"

Charlie didn't believe a word Jordan said to her. Why should she? He never gave her any reason to. "What is up with you? You've been acting so weird-" she said, as she got cut off by Jake. He said he needed to talk to her in private. Great. She walked with him, and he explained that his mom needed him to come home. Something about taking care of his siblings, but Charlie knew it was also an excuse to leave. She wanted to call him out on it, but she knew he wasn't having any fun and that wasn't fair to him. Because the only form of transportation was Jordan's car, Jake just said he'd take the bus. Charlie hugged him goodbye and he left. She walked over to the group. "So..Jake had to go home..." she bit her lip.

Ellie followed his gaze to see he was looking at Charlie and Jordan. She looked back at Alex and shrugged her shoulders slightly. "I think Jordan's trying to do everything he can to make sure Jake's completely out of the group, so he's unable to move in on Charlie.". It was obvious to everyone that Jordan still had feelings for Charlie but he'd never admit it.
Jake pulled Charlie aside and from afar, Ellie saw Charlie and Jake hug before he walked off the opposite way to the rest of us. Instantly as soon as Charlie said Jake had to go home, Ellie felt guilty. It must have been so hard for him. No one had really made the effort to make him comfortable and welcomed and Jordan was making sure he definitely didn't feel that way. "Is everything alright?" Ellie asked, waiting to hear what Jake's excuse was for going home.

(crap this is supposed to be charlie haha ) When Charlie walked back over to the group she knew Ellie would want to know what happened. "Yeah..everything's okay." she explained. "Jake has a lot of siblings, and only he can take care of them because his dad's out of town and his mom had somewhere to be." she continued. "But honestly..i think it was an excuse to leave." she sighed a bit.

Ellie sighed. So she and Charlie had both been on the same wave length that it was an excuse to leave. "I'm sorry we didn't include him more.. it's just we don't really know him.". Although, besides Ellie and Charlie no one else really knew Alex all that well but they'd still made the effort to include him..

"No, don't even worry about it. None of it's your fault." she explained. "I mean, even I wasn't really hanging with him..." she admitted. "It's probably better this way. That way he's not left out anymore." She sighed. "Anyways, what are we doing next?" she asked the group. She wanted to get her mind off of all of this.

"Its not late enough to do that whole pinic sunset thing." Jordan commented looking at the time on his phone. It was only midday. "We could go back and play poker or something? I brought a deck of cards.." "I don't know.. just a suggestion."
