It was no secret that many of the families of Kingswood were broken or without loved ones. On holidays, that can be hard. No one should feel that they are alone. That is why Jade and her mother decided that for this years thanksgiving they would have an open invitation for all of her friends to join her for thanksgiving with her mother if they wished to. So far she was only aware of Ellie, Charlie and Jordan (and his new baby) who were definitely going to join her. The others were undecided but the invitation remained.
The door bell to Jade's mother house rang and Jade raced to answer it. She swung it open to find Ellie and Charlie had come together with food in hand. "Hey guys, come on in!" She said as she pulled them into a hug, "Happy thanksgiving!". She lead them into the kitchen to place down the food. They quickly greeted her mom and then went into the lounge room to be comfortable. "So I hope you guys don't mind, I met this new guy Wesley the other day. He just moved here with his dad so they only really know themselves so I asked them to come along if they want to. He said maybe so yeah". She didn't want anyone feeling uncomfortable with others. "Oh and um, Jordan's bringing his daughter..". Both girls looked over at Charlie to see her reaction. It was crazy to think that Jordan and Victoria now had brought a baby into this world. This must be hard for Charlie, Jade thought. "But don't worry, Vic refused to come with.." "I hope you'll be okay with him here.." She said to Charlie.

Charlie listened, intrigued by this new guy. She smiled.. "Ooooh. He's comingggg?" she said laughing, poking fun at her friend. She smirked until Jade mentioned Jordan would be there. Charlie had to remind herself that she didn't care..she couldn't care, she just had to get over it. "Oh..yeah, psh, no problem. He'll probably just be watching his daughter the whole time anyways." she bit her lip, and faked a smile. These were her best friends though, and she was sure they would know she was faking. "When's he supposed to come?" she asked.

"He might be." Jade smiled sheepishly. It wasn't hard to see the change in expression when Jordan was mentioned. She brushed it off as if she was okay with it, but it didn't take a genius to realise she probably wasn't. Just as Jade was about to answer, the door bell rang. "That's probably Jordan now."

In walked Jordan with a baby in hand. He pressed a finger to his lips to tell us to be quiet as she was asleep. He looked over at Charlie then quickly looked away. "Awwww. She's so cute." Ellie whispered, "What's her name?". A smile grew on his face. The love he had for his daughter radiated off of him. We all knew he didn't love Victoria, but this little girl, he did. "This is April." Jordan informed us as he hugged her to this chest.

Seeing Jordan with a baby in hand made Charlie's heart hurt. They had been through so much, and to end up here was really sad. "She's adorable." she smiled and looked at the baby. Thankfully the doorbell rang and Charlie volunteered to go get it. In walked a boy and Charlie figured it was the one Jade was beaming about. "You must be Wesley." Charlie smiled and introduced herself. Wesley immediately walked over to Jade, greeted her with a hug and kissed her on the cheek. Must be an English thing.

She gave a sympathetic looked over to Charlie. She was hurting and Jade didn't know what to do. Charlie jumped up to answer the door and Jade felt her cheeks flush a shade of red as Wesley politely kissed her on the cheek. How very English of him. "Wesley, these are my friends Charlie, Ellie and Jordan." She said. Jade then looked at her friends, "This is the new guy I was telling you about.".

"Nice to meet you all." he grinned. "My dad decided to stop at the mart before he came because he didn't want to walk in empty handed." he chuckled a bit. "So you will all meet him later." He grinned. "Thank you for the invite, that was very nice of you." he smiled at Jade.

Jade didn't know when she would get over how attractive his accent is... and well, how attractive he is too. "Oh! He didn't have to do that." she told him. His father sounded very kind. "Well, you're very welcome. We're glad to have you here."

"In this small of a town, it's hard not to meet eventually." Ellie said with a slight laugh, "But we all really met from being at the same high school.". "What about you two?" She looking between new guy and Jade.

"Ah, I see." he nodded his head and explained how him and Jade. "Well, I took her order at Starbucks, and she was very friendly right away. So..yes." he laughed. "That was a horrid explanation."

Ellie and Charlie both gave them a smile as Wesley explained how he'd met Jade. Jade couldn't stop smiling either. Did she have a crush? "So, tell us, got a girlfriend you left behind in the UK or are you keen on our friend here?" Ellie said joking around to tease her friend. Jade's mouth dropped and let out a laugh. "Ignore that last part. She's just being stupid." Jade told Wesley.

Wesley couldn't help but chuckle because he could clearly see what they were trying to do. "No girlfriend back in the UK." he assured them with a smile. "How about you all?" he asked. He decided to switch it on them..this way he could find out if Jade was single as well.

Charlie had mentioned the little Thanksgiving that Jade was throwing, and he decided to go. Plus he knew Jordan was likely to come and he wanted to be there for his sister. He knocked on the door but there was no answer, so he pushed open the door. "Hello?" he called out and heard voices from the other room. He walked in with a pumpkin pie in hand, "Hey guys! Surprise." he laughed, setting the pie on the table.

Before any of them got a chance to answer Wesley, in came Sam, Charlie's brother carrying a pumpkin pie. "Hey Sam! Happy Thanksgiving!". All the girls got up to give him a hug hello and from his seat Jordan gave him a nod. Sam's eyes quickly looked down at the baby that Jordan was holding but he never commented on it. "Oh, Wesley, this is Sam. Charlie's brother." Jade introduced them, "Sam, this is Wesley. He just moved here."
