Every year it had become almost tradition that Jordan and the basketball team were the holders of the annual Halloween party. This year, it was to be held at Justice Hall. Flyers had been dispersed all around the place. Everyone under the age of 22 was welcome, as long as they wore a costume.
It was the night of the party and the place was buzzing. The boys had spent the whole day decorating, making sure it looked as scary and awesome as possible. Jordan was dressed as Darth Vader when he spotted his friends.

While Jorden was meeting up with his friend, Zan walked in, dressed as Batman. He wasn't big on party’s but he knew that it might be an opportunity to make new friends, or it might get too crowded and nobody would notice him.
The year before, he had gone trick-or-treating and some people wouldn't give him candy because they thought he was too old. This year he had almost stayed home and helped his father pass out candy but he didn't really want to give candy away too the kids who were younger then he was when he first had candy and more fortunate then he was as their age. Sometimes he couldn’t help being jealous.
Soon after he walked in, he saw Jorden. He had met him on the basketball court recently, but Zan doubted he would ever talk to him when other people were around.

Charlie wasn't really up for the halloween party. Ellie was still missing, and Charlie & Jordan were barely talking. But Alex & Chris thought it would be a good idea, just to get their minds off of everything. Alex was still upset, and he knew that he needed to let go of Ellie, but something made him think that she was still out there. Charlie, Alex and Chris walked into the party, and Charlie spotted Jordan. Right then, all she wanted was her best friend back. Alex saw someone from school, and started making small talk. "Hey Zan, what's up man?" He said, trying to be into the party. Charlie looked over at Chris.. "This is so...different." she said. And she was pretty sure he knew she was referring to Ellie not being there. Charlie saw Jordan across the room again..she didn't know if she should talk to him or not. Right when she was about to walk over, her brother Sam started talking to Jordan. She bit her lip and quickly changed her mind.Charlie looked over at Chris. "Why are you not dancing? Go, meet people!" she grinned, as she stood next to him. Chris was pretty new to town, and he was too preoccupied with Ellie being missing to socialize.

Sam walked into the party dressed as a greaser. He always loved the movie Grease, so he figured why not. Sam made his way over to Jordan, and spotted Darth Vader. "Hey man! I'm surprised the basketball team put this together!" he looked at the decorations. "Not too shabby." he smiled and laughed a bit. "Victoria here?" he asked.

Sophia wasn't sure if she should go to Jordan's Halloween party. Without fail, Ellie would always go every year an she figured if Sophia - being the new girl - didn't rock up to the party to meet new people, it could raise suspicision and not just from her friends.
Sophia walked gracefully into the hall, wearing a she devil costume.. this year, trying to fit with the scary Halloween-y vibe. Her brown slightly curled hair fell delicately down her right side as her eyes fell on her friends from across the room. The first person she spotted was Alex. A slight frowned played at her lips so she tore her eyes away, opting instead to go get a cup of punch.

Since Ellie went missing, Charlie was the only one that Chris felt that he could confide in. He'd gotten to known her a lot better.. and distance himself from knowing anyone else. He shook his head and looked her in the eyes. "I-I think I'm leaving anyway..". Before Charlie could comment back he nodded his head towards the door and her eyes followed. It was Sophia who had walked in the door.

Charlie's eyes went straight to the door where Ellie..Sophia had come in. She looked at Chris, who still looked so hurt. She didn't know what to say to fix it. "No, please don't." she told him. "I only came because you and Alex were going to be here." she explained. "Maybe
we can be friends with her...eventually."

Sophia contemplated whether to go over and talk to Chris and Charlie as she brought the cup of punch to her lips. Best not she decided. Instead, she meet their eyes with a friendly smile and then made small with someone standing beside her.

Alex stopped talking to Zan for a moment, to go grab some punch. Sophia turned to him, and started making small talk and he was slightly confused, until he realized he was wearing a mask. He was batman this year, so she must not have recognized him. "Nice costume." he smiled. "Although I'm sure you're not a devil at all." he told her.

Sophia smiled before taking another sip of her punch. She knew that she probably had known his boy standing in front of her but he was keeping his voice low to go with the costume. She laughed at his comment, "You'd be surprised.". Sophia took another look up and down his costume. "So, who's the mystery man behind the mask?"

She laughed softly. "That's hardly fair! You get to see who I am. The least you can go do is show me who you are.". The mystery batman behind the mask shock his head and Sophia's eyes narrowed, defeated. "Fine," She looked around the room. "So who are you here with tonight?". By the dj, Sophia spotted a girl dressed in a cat woman suit. Batman and cat woman? It had to be one of those silly couples costumes. "Let me guess.. it's her." She spoke pointing in her direction.

"Hey, it's not my fault you didn't decide to wear a mask!" he said, playfully. Then she spotted a girl dressed up like cat woman...and it was Victoria. He quickly shook his head. "Noooo." he said. "I'm solo tonight." he smiled again. "What about you? Where's your date?" he asked, scanning the room.

The girl turned around and she spotted that it was Victoria. Oops. She laughed. "No date for me either. I barely know anyone in this town yet!". It was half a lie. Ellie did. Sophia didn't.

"How long have you been here?" he asked, pretending not to know. He looked across the room, to see Charlie & Chris staring at the two of them, and sighed a little, wishing everything was just back to normal.
