Working at Aces on the weekdays was a somewhat lonely job. It was about 11am so everyone was yet to duck out for their lunch break which was when the place was usually at it's peak. Jade had been working such busy hours lately. She now had two jobs in order to keep up with rent and the necessities. Living in a town like Kingswood was always difficult for Jade. She hadn't come from a rich family like everyone else had around had. She had to earn her money and Jade barely had enough money to get through the week.
From the kitchen, Jade heard someone one of the other waitresses escort a customer to their seat. After waiting a few minutes Jade approached the table swiftly with a pen and paper in hand ready to take down their order. "Are you just about ready to order or do you need some more time?" She looked up with a smile on her face to see that (next poster) was sitting in front of her.

Sam was still getting use to Kingswood and where everything was. He decided to go to lunch; By himself because Jordan was busy and well Charlie wasn't talking to him. It was safe to say he was still pretty frustrated about that. He walked into the restaurant that looked pretty fancy and sat down..alone. "I- think I'm ready to order." he told the waitress. "This please." he laughed and pointed to the food on the menu. He couldn't pronounce it.

She let out a slight giggle and scribbled down the name of the pad piece of paper. "Don't worry, you're not the only one." Jade grinned. She walked back to the kitchen putting up the order and then went back to the table. "Is there anything you would like to drink to start you off? We have coffee, tea, juices, sodas, beers, wines, spirits.. anything really." Jade smiled.

"Could i have a beer please?" he asked, and reached for his wallet. He always got carded cause he apparently had a baby face. He smiled and handed her his license, even though she didn't ask for it.

She nodded her head, reading the card and then handed it back to him. Jade walked over to the bar and grabbed out a beer and put it on his table in front of him. "Let me know if you need anything else." She smiled then looked around, they weren't exactly busy. Jade walked back behind the counter.

"Thanks." Same said with a smile. She was actually really pretty, and for some reason he wanted to get to know her. He took a sip of his beer, and set it on the table, scrolling through the contacts on his phone. He found Charlie's name "Hi, this is Charlie" she said, and he thought she had answered the phone. Nope, straight to voicemail. "Charlie..this is Sam. I know you don't want to talk to me, but we need to. Call me back." he said and almost slammed his phone on the table. He didn't mean to make a scene, but others in the restaurant, including his waitress looked over to see what the source of that noise was.

Jade grabbed the cute boys meal and brang it over to him, setting it down lightly in front of him. She gave him a smile and then bit her lip. "Is everything alright?" She asked him. Moments later she shook her head, "Sorry, it's none of my business to be asking you that."

"No. It's not your fault, I'm just frustrated." he told her. "And honestly, It makes sense that you would ask after.. that so don't worry about it." he explained. "Sorry about that." he apologized. He didn't know what to do with himself, because he had tried to get through his sister so many times and nothing worked.

She looked around the place, barely anyone was in there so she took a place in the seat across from him. "Why? What's happened?" Jade asked, being totally nosey. She couldn't help feeling drawn to him and wanting to make sure that he was okay. Why? He was a total stranger.

Sam didn't even care that he was divulging to a total stranger. He needed someone to talk to. "Uh..my sister..she lives here, and she wont talk to me." he told her. "She won't answer my texts, phone calls, she's avoiding me at all costs." he explained.

Jade frowned. She couldn't imagine what that would be like. Jade and her brother were extremely close and if they were torn apart like that, she'd be so upset. "I'm so sorry. I'm sure she'll come around."

Sam kind of shook his head. "Agh..i don't think so. I've been here two weeks, called her, saw her and she just walks away each time." he sighed. "I even got an apartment so i could stay and try to get her to talk to me."

It clicked when he said apartment. She realised that she'd seen him in her apartment building before. No wonder he looked familiar. "Come on, you're family. You get mad at each other but you move on."

"Not her. She's the most stubborn person ever." he groaned, then laughed a bit. "I am so rude, I'm telling you all about my issues. I'm sorry." he laughed and apologized. "I'm Sam." he told her and held his hand out.

She let out a laugh, "I have some friends that are like that. I know your pain." Jade said thinking about Charlie who was the most stubborn person you could ever meet. "You just gotta keep trying till it gets through.". Jade smiled and shook her head, "It's no problem. I plan to study to be a psychologist so I like listening to people. I'm Jade." She said extending her hand to shake his.
