Sam laughed a bit. "I'm glad I'm not the only one." He sighed, "Yeah, I guess I'll just keep trying to get through to her. I've been trying to get her friends around here to convince her to talk to me...no such luck." he explained. The girl extended her hand, and Sam shook it. "Jade, nice to meet you." he smiled. "I like that name." he told her.

"Who is she? Maybe I could try too. The more people pushing her to talk to you, the closer she'll get to actually doing it.". She smiled when he said he liked her name, "Aw, thanks. I've always hated it."

"Her name's Charlie Hudson.." he told her. "And thanks! She's just gonna start having random strangers come up to her and tell her to talk to me." he laughed. "This could work." he said with a sheepish grin. "And you shouldn't. It's nice." he told her.

"You're a friend of Charlie's? Really?" he asked, clearly surprised. "Wow, this is a small town." he laughed. "But I'm not surprised...no one knew about me. I think she wants to keep it that way." he added. "How long have you guys been friends?" he asked her.

She should have figured that he was new in town. He hadn't flinched at her name which means he hadn't heard the rumours that circled around her. "Only a month or so. We don't get to hang out much. One of her friends isn't a big fan of mine." She laughed a little, knowing what an understatement that was.

Sam stopped to think before he said anything. He knew these two weren't friends, so he did want to make anything worse by saying something wrong. "Oh, I know her." he said. "Met her..randomly. But yeah, they definitely are. I think she's just been helping Charlie through a lot.....boy stuff." Sam rolled his eyes. He didn't want his baby sister involved with that.

She saw a slight twinge in Sam's facial expression when he mentioned boys. "Guessing you're not a fan of the idea then?" Jade laughed, thinking to how protective her own brother was over her. Sam seemed like he was kind of the same.

"I'm not a fan of how her last boyfriend treated her." Sam explained. "Jordan told me himself that he was a 'dick to her'." he said. "So, no, not a fan." he laughed. "But don't tell Jordan that." he laughed.

Were Jordan and Sam friends?. "Speaking of, I've seen you and Jordan around by apartment building before. I always figured it was a 'bump into you in the elevator' kind of friendship. Are you guys room mates or something?". That made a whole lot more sense... but how awkward!

Sam nodded his head. "Yep..he's my roommate.." he said, realizing how awkward the whole situation was. Because Jordan didn't know, everything was cool between them. "I know, it's...strange. I didn't know at first though." he admitted.
