"Oh I bet!" she laughed. "To be honest, I'm really surprised that they let you come out here, to live alone." She explained. "What did you do to convince them?"

"Didn't tell them." Sean laughed a little. "They didn't really mind though. They knew I was upset about the whole x factor thing, and there were just a bunch of bad memories relating to Ireland. So I packed a few bags, stuffed stuff in boxes, shipped them over here, and bought a plane ticket. The day of the flight, I told them right before leaving." Sean laughed, remembering the day.

"Wow, you've got some guts." She laughed. "If I did that.." She paused. "I'm pretty sure my parents would DRAG me back home." She laughed, again. "That's great that your parents were so understanding though." "Honestly, you're lucky to have parents like that." She smiled, then took a bit of her ice cream cone.

Sean shrugged. "I guess they just understood why I wanted to leave." He thought about how different everything would be if his parents didn't let him leave, like Charlie was talking about. "Sounds like you have strict parents." He laughed a little.

"That's really great though. Not a lot of parents are like that." She told him. "Yes, yes they are. Because if they weren't, I definitely wouldn't have been 'shipped off' here." She explained.

"Shipped?" He questioned, looking at her with a confused look. "What...happened?" He asked. "If you don't mind me asking." Sean quickly added, not wanting to put her under pressure.

Charlie was hesitant to answer, but figured she might as well tell him. "My friends back home were, into bad things. I was kind of rebelling, because my parents were splitting up.." she paused. "One night, the cops caught my friends drinking, and doing drugs..and because i was with them, I got in trouble too." She explained and sighed. "I basically got in trouble by association. They dropped charges, but my parents sent me off to live with my grandparents to 'teach me a lesson'." She explained.

Sean dropped his head, feeling bad for Charlie. "That really stinks. I'm sorry." He frowned. "Things can only get better from here, right?" He tried looking on the bright side.

"It does.." She agreed. "I guess it can. Although being in a place like this, I'm not quite sure what my parents were thinking." She explained to him. "But thanks haha. Sorry you had to sit through that whole story." She laughed a bit.

"It's fine, I don't mind listening." He shrugged. "And I guess they just didn't check out the place before sending you here..." Sean looked outside the ice cream shop at the surroundings. It really wasn't the best town someone could go as a punishment, but maybe there was some reason behind it.

"I mean, at least they didn't send me to boarding school. Or something crazy like that.." She explained. "At least i'm here with family." she smiled. "I don't really know what to think of this place yet.."

"Better than being sent to some remote island where you're forced to live with monkeys and eat bananas for every meal..." Sean said, hiding a smile. He knew Charlie didn't really want to be here, and Sean didn't blame her. If Sean was in her position, he wouldn't want to be shipped off here either, so he tried to make her happy.

Charlie laughed at Sean's response. "I don't know. Living with monkey's would be pretty cool!" She laughed again. "But thanks for lightening the mood." She told him. "It's just so weird. How can someone force someone else to leave their friends, and basically everything else and move to another state?" She asked, and thought.

"I would probably cry if that happened to me." Sean quietly whispered. "I'm still sorry it happened to you. You definitely don't deserve it." He frowned.

Charlie shook her head. "Don't feel sorry, it's alright." She explained. "I'll adjust eventually." she added, and finished her ice cream cone. "So, tell me about yourself. Since i just gave you that long story." she laughed a bit.
