Over the last few weeks, Ellie had become very fragile and weak. Her bones went beginning to poke through her skin and her bmi classed her as aneroxic. She did't see how that was possible considering every time she'd look into the mirror, she'd see nothing but flab. Ugh. She barely eating and when she did eat.. she would end up just purging it. But lately, it had been so much worse. Her skin was as place as ice and she had no energy at all. She stayed in bed for days. Until finally, Abby came into her room demanding that she go to hospital. Ellie refused ofcourse, saying "I'm fine. I'm just tired.". "That's always your excuse. You're sick. You need to be checked out."
Ellie's eyes opened. She recognised where she was straight away. She wasn't sure how exactly but some how Abby had brought her into the hospital and Ellie was now laying in a hospital bed with a nurse hovering over the top of her. "W-What?". The nurse looked at her and spoke softly, "Oh honey, do you know what's happened?". Ellie shook her head. "You passed out in your room yesterday and an ambulance came and picked you up. Now, we've done some tests and Ellie, you're not in good shape." "Your sugar levels, iron levels, everything.. it's all extremely low. You're lucky you were brought in when you were. You could have easily died within the next few days.". Ellie hadn't realised how badly she was. She was on the brink of dying. Wow. She had gone way too far.. The nurse left the room and Ellie looked down at her arms. They were full of tubes pumping into her body. "There has to be so many to get all the stuff your body needs to survive. That, right now, is the only thing that's keeping you alive." Abby told her, as she stood up from her seat. "Abby.. I'm sorry..". Abby smiled slightly and shook her head. "It's not your fault. You can't help it.""I texted all your friends from your phone so I'm sure they'll be popping in soon. Sean's worried to bits."

It was a normal day for Sean. Woke up, showered, eaten breakfast, watched some television, everything was going smooth. He texted Ellie multiple times, but there was never any response. He shrugged it off, but in the back of his mind there was always some worry. It was well into the afternoon...she couldn't be sleeping. Was she alright? Was she kidnapped? He pushed the thoughts out of his mind and went around the neighborhood for a walk. Right as he reached Ellie's house, his phone buzzed. Hoping it was Ellie, he pulled it out of his pocket so fast that he almost dropped it, and his face lit up when he saw her name and picture meaning she had texted him.
"It's Abby, Ellie's sister. She's in the hospital...you're probably the only one that knows why. Room 311, you can come in a few hours. She should wake up soon."
Sean's heart stopped for a split second. He stopped walking, and his hands started shaking. Ellie went too far with the bulimic thing. He knew she couldn't control it, but she promised she would eat something. He didn't know how fast his legs could run, but he felt as if he were going at the speed of light. Thankfully the hospital wasn't too far, and he was out of breath when he ran through the automatic front doors.
"Excuse me, can we help you?" A lady behind the front desk asked Sean. He slowly walked over to her, trying to catch his breath.
"I'm here," He paused, inhaling, "to see...Ellie Mankelow...I think...she's in...room 311..." He said, huffing and puffing between words.
The nurse behind the desk just nodded her head, not saying anything. Or maybe she did say something; Sean wasn't even paying much attention. He sprinted to the elevator, and pressed the up button rapidly. The doors opened in a few seconds, and he ran in, pressing the 3 for the third floor. It arrived, and he followed the signs to 311. He stood outside the door, and knocked three times.

Part of Ellie wished that Abby hadn't texted Sean. She knew all he was do is worry and he didn't need to do that. But then again, this was something he needed to know about.
The pain was horrible. Having that many tubes pumping through your body at the same time.. ouch. Her head was pound. She rested back on the pillow when there was a knock on the door. "Ugh, I don't really want visitors.". Abby went to answer the door to shoo them off when she looked at her, "It's Sean.". Ellie nodded giving Abby the okay to let him in. Crap. This wasn't going to be good.

Sean stood nervously outside the room. His hands were numb, and there were tears filling his eyes up. Abby opened the door, and she looked exhausted. "It's Sean." She said. Sean stood on his tippy toes, trying to see Ellie. Abby let him in, and Sean froze when Abby walked away from the door. Ellie looked fragile, as if she would break any minute. Sean took a few steps towards her, not speaking. He could feel tears falling down his cheeks, and he probably looked stupid, but could anyone blame him? He fell down to the floor on his knees, and he laid his head on his arms on Ellie's bed. "You scared me to death." He whispered, not wanting to touch her.

Seeing Sean's reaction, broke Ellie apart. She was doing this to herself, not thinking about what effect it would have on others. She leaned forward to be her hand on his arm. She was trying her hardest not to wince in pain. That'd just make it worse for him to see her like that. She noticed that her hand was shaking, as was his. "Sean, I'm fine. It's okay.". He lifted his head to look at her, "This stuff is keeping me alive." She pointed to the bags that were all hooked up to her at various points, "I'll be okay." She said softly.

"What happens when this stuff comes out of your arm? What happens when you go back home, Ellie? I don't want this happening again!" He said, wiping away the tear stains on the blanket. His entire body felt like it was shaking the entire bed. He hated all of this.

She sighed. "I don't know yet.. I'll just have to go to a psychologist about my problems. Get some help and eventually start eating. In the mean time, I'll probably be throwing back lots of pills to keep me.. alive and healthy." She bit her lip. Sean was shaking so much and she hated it. "She'll get through this, Sean." Abby said to him. Ellie leaned forward to kiss his cheek, "Don't cry." She whispered.

"Don't cry?" Sean asked, looking up at her. "The last time I was in a hospital was because of my sister, and you know how that ended. I don't want this to end the same way." He whispered, even though he knew this wouldn't end in Ellie dying.

"It won't.". There was a possibility that it could. The nurses had warned Abby that her body made reject the pills, like it does to food and then well.. bad. But she in no way was going to tell him that. "Please, cheer up. I'm recovering, aren't I? Yes. So, be happy."

"Sure." Sean nodded a little, trying to let Ellie save her energy. "Is anyone else coming?" He asked, half towards Ellie, half towards Abby.

"I texted them saying Ellie didn't want many visitors but some guy named James asked if he could come and I said yeah considering you're the only one here so far so there's not too many people." Abby said, responding to Sean's question. Ellie was glad that Abby was being nice to Sean. Rather than last time at the movies when she was a total bitch to him.

James. Of course James was able to come in a heartbeat. Out of all of Ellie's friends, he would be the only one to ask to come. "Gotcha." Sean whispered, sitting on the floor against Ellie's bed. "I can't believe I let this happen to you." He whispered so quietly, it was barely audible.

"James wants to come?". This took her by surprise. She barely even knew him, why would he want to come in? Strange. Ellie heard what Sean said and she jerked forward, so fast that two of the tubes came out of her arm. Ow. Crap.

Sean jumped off the floor and looked towards Abby for help. "Uh, what are we supposed to do?" He said, his eyes widening. "Go get a doctor or something!" Sean said, trying his hardest not to freak out. He could never get a career being a doctor, or anything that would involve saving peoples lives. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry...I should have been watching you...please...just..." Sean couldn't form sentences, and nothing he spoke even made sense.

When receiving the text Ellie's phone saying she was in hospital, James wanted to do everything he could to make her feel better. He was ready to make a fuss over here just as she had over him at the carnival.
Once James knew she was alright and had the okay to visit, he popped down to the local florist and bought her a bunch of pink and cream coloured roses. He would have preferred to spend the extra money on by the type that was her favourite but he didn't know what that was so he figured, all girls like roses, right?. Once he payed for them, he bought it in the back seat of his car and drove down to the hospital.
One of the nurse redirected him to Ellie's room. He walked in, flowers first to see Sean panicking. Another girl rushed past him and brought a nurse into her room. The nurse rushed back in and put some tubes back into Ellie's arm. He looked over at Sean, who's panicked look still remained on his face. Once the tubes were securely back in, the nurse reassured everyone that everything was alright and that's when James handed her the flowers, "I hope you like them." He smiled.
