"No problem." She said. "I'm Charlie..and that's okay." She told him and walked with him until he got to her grandparents house. She walked in "Hello?" No answer. There was a note left on the counter that said, Had to take grandma to the doctors. Not sure when we'll be back. Charlie felt sick reading that, but quickly focused her attention back to Aiden. "Oh here's the phone." she said, and handed it to him.

Aiden quietly followed Charlie into the house, which he learned belonged to her grandparents. They weren't home, apparently, and Charlie quickly handed Aiden the phone. "Thank you." He dialed in the number to his next door neighbor, who he had known forever. "Kylie?" He choked into the phone. "It's Aiden. Yeah, I'm fine." He lied. "I need you to do me a huge favor, though." He whispered, looking towards Charlie, and then back around the room. "I'm up in Kingswood...I need you to go in my bedroom and get my wallet...and ship it to me. I can't come back home." He admitted. Kylie knew about Aiden and his dad, but she swore she would never tell anyone. "Um, Charlie?" Aiden questioned, looking at her. "Do you mind if I get something mailed here?" He bit his lip.

Charlie was still worried and distracted by the note. "Huh? Oh, no, i'm sure that's fine." She told him the address and he repeated it to his friend. Or whoever was on the phone. Charlie put the note down as Aiden got off the phone. "So is everything okay now?" She asked him.

Aiden licked his chapped lips. He nodded. "Sure." He tucked his hands in his pockets. "Do you know how long it takes for something to get shipped from San Fran to Kingswood?" He asked, hoping it was no longer than over night. "I need my wallet to rent a hotel room or something." He said.

"I'm assuming overnight, or about a day." she told him. "So do you have anywhere to go for tonight?" she asked. She felt bad,if he had no where to go for the night. She would offer to let him stay here, but she doubted her grandparents would be alright with that.

Aiden shyly shook his head. "It's no big deal. I'll just find a soccer field with bleachers or something. I've done it before." He said, starting to walk towards the door when he quickly realized what he said.

"No. You're not sleeping on the soccer fields." "And you've done this before?" she asked. But then realized she shouldn't be prying into his business. "I think i have an idea.." She went to her next door neighbor/friend Sean's house and knocked on his door.

"Just with..my team...as a joke..." Aiden mentally slapped himself for the dumb excuse. "What's the idea?" He quickly changed the subject as Charlie left the house. Aiden trailed along.

"Well...my friend Sean, he lives here." she told him. "And he doesn't have a room-mate or anything, so hopefully he'll let you crash for a night." She knocked on the door again.

"Right." Aiden folded his arms, already feeling uncomfortable about the whole thing. He didn't trust anyone, and hated being around new people. "Listen, maybe he's not home. It's fine, I like camping and stuff." He reassured Charlie. He didn't want to spend the night with someone who he'd never met.

Charlie bit her lip, maybe it wasn't such a great idea. She stopped knocking on Sean's door. "Okay..i don't think he's home either." she sighed. "It doesn't matter, I'm not gonna let you sleep on a bleacher." she told him. "You know absolutely no one here?" she asked, trying to help.

"I don't mind the outdoors." Aiden folded his arms, sort of happy that this kid wasn't home. "Trust me." He slightly smiled. "I'm an only child. My dad lives in San Francisco, and my relatives live down in Los Angeles. I didn't even know this town really existed until today. Listen, I'll sleep out overnight, and then tomorrow I'll come back for my wallet?" He asked, trying to compromise with her.

Charlie sighed when he said he had no one nearby. "No..you can't just sleep outside." she explained. She thought about the note her grandpa left. "I don't think my grandpa will be back with my grandma til morning.." she said "Some stuff's going on with her..but if you can get in and out without them noticing, you can stay here." she offered. She knew if she got caught she'd be dead, but it's not like she was doing anything wrong, really.

"Is everything okay?" He quickly asked. "I don't want to get you in trouble." He quickly stated, frowning slightly.

She really didn't want to talk about her grandma, so she just slightly lied instead. "Yeah, everything's fine." she told him. "No, i won't get in trouble. Like I said, they won't be back til morning. And i don't want you to have no place to sleep." she explained.
