Charlie felt kind of bad, but she had to talk Ellie out of this. "Wh-what did you just do?" She asked her. "He seriously loves you. If you think that him having.." she paused. "Being sick is your fault, you're crazy." She explained. "He needs you now, more than ever." she said, and waited for Ellie to respond.

Ellie sighed and moved out of the way so that Charlie could walk inside. "It's not that. I just think that he needs to be focused on himself and getting better right not. Not on relationships, being insecure about James, any of that.. it just doesn't matter now. What's important is that he gets better and he's not gonna be able to do that if he's focused on unimportant crap." She explained and she closed the door behind them.

Charlie walked in. "You don't get it though. If you break up with him...or stay broken up, he's going to be focused on that. He's gonna be miserable." She explained. "He's worse off without you."

"He needs his friends AND his girlfriend." she told her. "Explain one thing to me.." she paused. "Why do you think that breaking up with him will help? Besides the fact that his focus needs to be on getting better."

Jade moved up a chair to the side of Sean's bed so that she could talk to him. He'd been crying since Ellie left and it was so sad to see. "You'll get her back. You haven't lost her. She's still yours.".

"She doesn't want anything to do with me." Sean whispered, knowing it was Jade without even making eye contact. James hadn't said a single word, but he was probably pissed at Sean for punching him. "I guess I shouldn't blame her. I kept a huge secret from her." He sighed, relaxing every muscle in his body. "But it won't matter. I'll be gone soon enough, and all of her problems will go away."

She thought about it and shrugged a little. "I don't know. There's just less stress for him to deal with and with the state he's in, he doesn't need stress."

"No, Sean! Don't think like that." Jade said, raising her voice at him. "She never said she didn't want anything to do with you. She just wants you to focus on getting better." "If she hears you talking like this then you might actually lose her. Is that what you want?"

"No!" Sean turned to Jade, and then quickly looked away. "I just..." He exhaled. He didn't know how to explain any of this. Nothing made sense except for the thoughts in his mind. "I don't want this happening...to me...right now..." He choked back his tears. He didn't want to die, he didn't want to think everything was okay just like his sister did.

Ellie pushed her back into a messy bun to get it out of her eyes. Staring into the mirror, she listened to Charlie. "I don't see how being with me is going to make any difference.. happy wise for him." She admitted.

No one would ever want cancer to be happening to them. There's never a right time for something like this. Jade sighed, not knowing what to say. "Nothing's going to happen to you." She told him. Jade wished more than anything that she would promise that to him that it was true but honestly, no one knew how long he had left or if he'd get through this and that scared everyone, especially Ellie, more than anything.

"That's what they told my sister too, Jade." Sean said, looking at her with hurt eyes. "You can't trust anyone. These doctors don't even know what they're doing." He said in a monotone voice.

Charlie was not able to talk any sense to her. "Uhm..hmm..because he loves you?!" she explained. "When you go through stuff, don't you want your friends by your side? helping you through it?" she asked.
