It came to the night that Sam and Ellie had organised for their first date. As Ellie was getting ready her stomach was doing flips. She had her hair up in half up half down hair style with quite dressy make up as she wanted to look somewhat presentable. She slipped on a pair of jeans and a whitey lace top with a black jacket over top and was ready just in time for the door bell to ring.
She opened the door with shaky hands. "You ready to go?" Sam asked her and she nodded in response, not yet able to form sentences over her nerves. The pair got into his car and he drove them to the Ice Arena. It's where they'd agree to have their date as it was one of the first places they'd really bonded as friends so it was special to them. Afterwards, they'd catch a movie.

Sam thought of all places, this was the perfect place to have their first date. They walked through the doors of the ice arena, and Sam payed for their skates. "I don't know if you remember..but i'm pretty bad at this." "I may need your help." he smiled, and they both skated onto the ice.

Just like last time, Sam fluttered around the edge while Ellie skated around freely. Being a dancer made her light on her feet so things like ice skating came as second nature. It also helped that her dad had taken her ice skating a lot when she was young. Living in Florida, Sam wouldn't have had that. "Come on. I won't let you fall." She extended her hand out and he held onto it. They skated around in circles for the next five minutes, talking about their day and just as Ellie was about to compliment Sam for getting the hang it off, he began to wobble. She moved in front of him and got a better grip on him so he could become stable again. Once he did a huge grin became exposed from Ellie's lips and she let out a chuckle. The pair moved back over to the edge and she leaned her back casually against it but remained close to her date in case he lost his balance again. "You know, I think you're doing pretty good for a beginner."

Sam was a little embarrassed that he was having so much trouble ice-skating, and Ellie was finding it so easy. "Y'know, I feel like this should be the other way around." "You all wobbly and me holding your hand to keep you up." He laughed. "I'm sorry." He said, standing right in front of her, but still close to the edge.

She smiled smugly at him. "Oh really? Why's that? So you can assert your manly-ness?" Ellie joked. "Don't be sorry. I think it's pretty cute anyway.."

"Uh..yes" he said, guiltily. (Is that a word? Haha) "Can I tell you something?" He asked. Ellie nodded her head. "When we first hung out here, that's when I really knew I had feelings for you." He smiled.

Ellie thought back to the first time they'd hung out at the Ice Arena. "Really? You should have told me!" She smiled. She remembered how she felt like they connected a lot when she got to know his side a lot more of the situation he was in with Charlie. She looked down at the ice then back up at him. It was getting to the deep and meaningful talks part of the night. "You know, I can never thank you enough for what you did for me. You ran away and left everything to keep me safe. I know you did it for Charlie, because it's what she'd want.. but still, I'm forever grateful. You took care of me."

Sam couldn't help but smile. "I thought you absolutely hated me when I made you go to the hospital. I thought 'Cool, I like this girl and she hates me now. Great start." He confessed. "But I'd do anything for you."

"Hate you? Never." She smiled. A slight natural blush flushed her cheeks. He was being so lovely. "You know all those bad bits about me.. yet you're still sticking around.. actually wanting to be on this date with me. It's crazy."

"It's not crazy. Everyone has their baggage." He explained to her. "It would be so wrong of me to judge you because of that." He told her.

"Well. thank you for not judging me on it.". She took his hand again and lead him around the rink, doing laps. After a while, they got off the rink and went into the cafeteria that was linked onto the ice arena. They both ordered hot chocolates and then sat down at one of the nearby tables. "So, what did you get up to today?"

"I played the drums...and that's pretty much it." He laughed. "How about you?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, Charlie said you were getting back into music. That's nice." She said to him. Her fingers wrapped around the cup and she lifted into to her mouth. She felt the warmth of the drink spread throughout her body. "Had dance rehearsals all morning. Besides that, nothing interesting."

"Oh, you're doing dancing again?" he smiled. "I'm glad. I'm curious, what kind of dancing do you do? Or is it all styles?" Sam asked.

"Up until recently I did contemporary, jazz, hip hop and ballet." She told him. "Right now, it's really just ballet and bit of contemporary that I'm focused on.".
