It was late. And since Ellie had abandoned him in lieu of seeing a movie on the day that she was back, Jersey had ended up spending the evening with a very drunk Justine and things were done that were regretted. You know, Jersey really hated letting people down, and he guessed it just turned out to lead to one thing then to another and then Jersey drove Justine home and by the time that he was back, it was two in the morning and he was emotionally, physically and psychologically done. Of course, the whole day had been weird. There was the happy moments, like when he was on the bridge and saw and talked to Ellie. And then there was when she was in an upset state. Then there was drunk Justine. And then there was Drain Notes and things that really shouldn’t have been mentioned. Jersey swore that girl was going to run him down or drive him crazy if he saw her again. She was just bitter and mean and… quite frankly, a whore. There. He said it. His girlfriend was a whore. With a capital W. Or a whore who flaunted relationship statuses. And he knew that it wasn’t fair to Ellie or to Justine to say anything about it… He closed his eyes and sighed, sitting down at the kitchen table before checking his twitter notifications. She’d tweeted, of course. And Jersey just sighed and looked at it, the things Ellie had written… What was she getting herself into, apparently? Jersey just sighed and picked up the phone, and dialed Ellie’s number. It rang.

Ellie really had no idea what she was doing. After leaving Jersey's house she went home, put on her bikini and headed to the beach. That was where she met Sean. Beautiful lovely kind Sean and they just hit off from the start. There was a connection there that neither of them could explain. This wasn't fair what she was doing. Leading Sean on? Although she did feeling something.. and, in a way, she was just wasting her time with Jersey. He had his chance to be with her and he waited until he was taken to make a move.. This can't be done. But he's just so.. Perfect. But then there's Sean..
Ellie was sitting on her bed, arriving home from the beach after meeting Sean only a half hour ago when she felt her phone begin to vibrate. She ruffled through the sheets until she finally found it. The caller id read; 'YOUR BESTEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD JERSEY!!!'. She laughed. He'd put that there just before she left. Moments passed where she just stared at the phone until finally, she answered, "Hey Jersey..". .

"Hey Jersey..". Jersey panicked. What the hell was he going to say? That he felt really bad for letting her walk off? That he felt bad that he, instead of seeing a dumb Nicolas Cage movie with her, got drunk with his.... girlfriend. You know, feel bad about that. So he just started to talk in really quick tones "Ohkay do you remember that concert we went to when we were Freshman? The Fall Out Boy one? There's one song that really describes how I feel right now and I just want you to listen to it because I'm sorry about everything that's happened and I just want you to hear it? Okay? The phone's being held up against the laptop. Just like we used to do whenever you'd be in England and not have WiFi. Remember? Uhm. Going on. Just listen, please, Ellie?" He clicked through a youtube video until finding the song he wanted to play and held the phone up to the speaker of the laptop that was lazily lounging on the table in front of him. A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me. He just played the song all the way through before holding the phone up to his ear. "I'm so sorry, Ellie. And I've done some things I should and can regret... And even after you were home. Things happened that I do regret immensely, and I'm sorry for that. Just give me a week. I'll tell Justine it isn't working out." [/blockquote]

Ellie sighed, "Jersey, stop apologising. It's okay. What you do with your girlfriend is your choice.. not mine.". He was about to say something but then she said, "I met someone tonight. At the beach a-and I don't know how I feel about them..". Nothing but silence came through from the other end. "Stay with her. She's what you want. I understand. We were always meant to be.. just friends." And with that, she hung up the phone. Jersey tried to call back a couple of times. She ignored them both and eventually just turned her phone off. She placed it on her bedside table and crawled under the quilt of her bed. She didn't know what this meant for the two of them.

That was it. She wasn't answering calls. She wasn't doing anything. It was 2:30 in the morning, and Jersey was just done. So he'd done what any rational, sleep deprived eighteen year old boy would do in a time like this. He stood up from the kitchen table, grabbed his keys from the bowl on the counter top and promptly ran out of the house, opening the door behind him and then locking it behind him. But it wasn't like he needed to. It was Kiingswood, for the sake of the world. Nothing happened here outside of the occasional celebrity stumbling around drunkenly. Otherwise, there was no crime rate whatsoever. Jersey walked down the street briskly, finally finding his way to her families home. Memories flooded back of sitting in the tree in her backyard when they were eleven, to the days when they were fifteen and had decided to learn how to dive and then had a diving party in the pool in her backyard.
Jersey sighed and looked at the tree, but then decided against climbing up against it. How in the hell would he get her to listen. Rocks against windows were cliche and would break something, and the doorbell was too loud. What about a text message? If she wasn't answering calls, she might be looking at texts. He took out his phone and sent her the quick words "Look outside your window."

Ellie's eyes widened at the sound of someone creeping around in the bushes. Instantly Ellie froze. After her father's murder, she was frightened of any noises that went on during the night. When hearing those noises again, Ellie forced herself to suck it up and investigate. She tip toed downstairs and grabbed a knife from the kitchen then ventured outside with the knife ready to use. She followed the noises until she saw a black silhouette right in front of her. It was too dark to see who it was. "Come any closer and I'll stab you.". Every muscle is her body was shaking. She had tears in her eyes. Was this her dad's murdering coming off to finish the job?. "Ell, it's me.". Jersey. She let out a sigh in relief. "Are you crazy? Sneaking around my house at 2.30am in the morning! You scared the hell out of me. Do you not remember, my dad murdered!". She saw the guilt creep up onto Jersey's face. She dropped the knife and walked towards him and put her arms around him in a hug, nestling her head into his chest. "Don't scare me like that again." She was just so happy to see him.

"Well, Ellie. Let's think for a second. You weren't answering phone calls and you're mad at me and my conscience is really bad. I feel terrible. And I felt terrible. So thats the reason why I was sneaking around in bushes. I tried to text your phone, but clearly that wasn't being checked." Jersey said. It was nice to have someone hugging you, and he just noticed that. He looked down at her and smiled, returning the hug. "I'm sorry." He said simply, before bringing his face closer to hers. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm an idiot." He said before deciding that it might be a dumb idea to express emotions. But he shook his head, and instead went with it. So he kissed her. Two thirty in the morning. You know, wonderful stuff. Withdrawing, he looked at her. "I am dumb, aren't I?" [/blockquote]

Jersey and Ellie's faces were still pretty close together. "I am dumb, aren't I?" He said. She laughed a little but shook her head, "You just make bad decisions." "Look, you and me held in our feelings from everyone including each other.. I'm sure sneaking around to be together is something we could easily do?"

Jersey pondered it for a second before nodding. "If we really wanted to pull it off, we could. People think that we were dating as-is. I just wonder if we're playing with fire and may get burned. But I think we could pull it off... Would you be up for it?" He asked, leaning into her face again. Twisting a few strands of her hair back absentmindedly. "What about this? Let's start living like it's the last breath we'll ever breathe." [/blockquote]

"Sure, I'd be up for it.." Ellie said, not knowing if she was going to regreat that and what it may do to their friendship. "So does that mean you'll stay with Justine then..?". Jealousy inside Ellie was going mental.

Jersey blinked. "I want to progressively ease out of the Justine thing. That's what I want to do. Just start distancing myself from her to the point where she won't be near me anymore. Do you know what I mean? Or I could just tell her I'm done with her bitterness. I don't know, but I'll get out of it, I promise."
