"I'm not sure!" she laughed. "What haven't we done in this town?" she asked her friend. "Maybe we can go to the arcade? Or the pier..don't they have games up there?"

Ellie hadn't been to the arcade in years so that is where they decided to go. As they walked in, Ellie raced over to the air hockey machine. She extended her arm out to give Charlie a puck (I think that's what they're called) and said "Let's play!" excitedly as she put some coins into the machine. For a moment, she felt care free. Like a child again.

(yeah that's what they're called and i'm BOSS at this game!) Charlie eyed the puck that was in the middle of the table and waited for Ellie to hit it. She hit the puck and scored. "AH!" Charlie laughed a bit. She set the puck down and hit it, and it went into Ellie's slot. "BOOM. YES!" She laughed and she waved her hands in the air.

Ellie narrowed her eyes and laughed as Charlie continued to score points. "Hey this unfair. You've played more recently than me! I haven't played since I was at least 12!" She said, making excuses for her... not so good game.

"Excuses, excuses!" She laughed and tried scoring another point. It almost went in the slot, but Ellie caught it just in time and shot the puck into Charlie's slot. "Lucky shot." She said jokingly. She missed being this childish and carefree.

She looked over at Charlie with a smug look on her face. "So much for you being all pro." Ellie joked. Hitting the puck, back and forth, the game started to get more intense but remained playful. They were both keen to win and Ellie was seriously trailing behind.

Charlie's jaw dropped as she pretended to be offended, the puck went back and forth a few times until Ellie hit the puck and it went into Charlie's slot. "Lucky shot!" Charlie said, after the buzzer went off, saying the game was over. "I was just..off today." she laughed a bit. Charlie looked around the room, and noticed people staring. Crap..she forgot she was with "Sophia", 'the one who looks like the dead girl.' Charlie looked at Ellie. "They have got to get over it at some point." she sighed.

Ellie looked in the direction Charlie was looking and she sighed, "..Yeah." The stares felt like razor blades were going through her. Although she wasn't dead, the judgement still hit her as if she actually were the one that looked like the dead girl. On the other side of the arcade, there was a food court that connected on. "I'm gonna get a milkshake, you want one?" She asked Charlie, trying to avoid the stares. "My treat."

Charlie nodded her head, "Sure." she smiled, and they walked over to get a milkshake. They got their milkshakes and sat down. "Gosh, I wish we could just go somewhere else other than Kingswood for a bit." she said and took a sip of her milkshake.

She sighed and took a sip of her milkshake and placed it back on the table. "You know, I always felt like that.." Ellie said, "But I've been away two and even with all this drama, you do end up missing the place."

Charlie nodded her head. "Yeah, i can see that." she explained. "Like you don't know what you've got til its gone?" she asked, and swirled the straw in her milkshake. "I've just been thinking about my parents lately. I don't think this was a permanent move, for me..." she said. Charlie thought about it. At any given moment, her mom could come and take her away from this place.

Although she knew that Charlie missed home and didn't like Kingswood, the thought of her leaving made Ellie really upset. They'd become best friends and it'd be so strained if she moved away. "Do you want to be back at your home?"

"I mean, there are times when I miss it. And i miss my parents...but no. I don't." she admitted. "But that's the thing; It's not going to be my choice." she sighed. She didn't want to think about that possibility.

"So.. you think you're mom's going to just pull you away at any moment she likes?" Ellie frowned, "We won't let that happen.. We can't."

"I'm not saying she will, but she definitely could." Charlie didn't want her friend to worry. Especially since Ellie herself could leave at any moment. She thought about her grandma, and her Alzheimer's. She knew her grandpa would call her parents, and tell them about it, eventually. She decided to ignore that possibility though. "I know you guys won't." she smiled and took a sip of her milkshake. "So i never really asked..but how are you doing? it can't be easy considering everything that is going on."
