Ellie's eyes were just fluttering open when Sam entered the room, two coffees in hand. It was just what she needed to wake her up. As she got out of bed, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window and noted how she looked quite exposed in her tank and short shorts she'd worn to bed so she grabbed a sweater out of her bag and put it over the top. With her hands clutched around her coffee cup, Ellie shivered as she tried to get warm. "D-Did you s-sleep okay?" She asked him.

She looked at him, and wanted to explain to him that it wasn't her emotional state. That is had nothing to do with that, but he did have a point. Maybe giving it a few days would be a good idea. "I mean it..I promise." she told him. "But if you think it's a better idea that we wait a few days, then i'll do that." she explained. When he said he wouldn't let go of her again, she couldn't help but smile. It finally felt like they were at a good place.

"I mean considering- yeah." he explained. "What about you? Are you feeling any better?" he asked. Her suddenly throwing up threw him off. He didn't feel sick at all, so he was wondering why she felt so awful. "Question..have you talked to Charlie at all?"

She smiled a bit and brought the coffee cup to her mouth taking a sip. "That's good then.". When asking her if she'd talked to Charlie, she replied with a shake of her head. "Not since we left. There's a payphone near the entrance if you wanna give her a call.". They'd both agreed not to use their cell phones, and get new ones in Washington. Who knew if this guy knew how to trace calls but they wouldn't take the risk. Sam took her up on that idea and after getting into a pair of fresh clothing, he went outside to give her a call while Ellie was in the shower.

That night, Jordan took Charlie out to dinner, trying to get her mind off of the worry that he knew she'd have for her best friend and her brother. When they returned back to Jordan's apartment it was late and Charlie ended up crashing there.
Jordan woke up the next morning with a huge smile on his face when he noted Charlie had fallen asleep next to him, and her head had ended up on laying on his chest. It felt.. good. He could really get used to this. Very gently, he moved away so that he could move into the bathroom. By the time he had finished his shower he felt refreshed and saw that Charlie was awake. Before he was even able to say anything to her, her phone rang and she rushed to answer it obviously hoping it was Ellie or Sam.

Charlie answered the phone, probably thinking it was Ellie. "Charlie, hey it's Sam." He said on the phone. "So we're at the gas station, but I just wanted to check in with you." He explained. "How are you doing?" He asked, hoping she'd actually talk to him. Charlie explained that she was okay considering everything that was going on. "oh and when you get a chance, tell Jordan sorry for leaving him lonely." Sam chuckled. "oh ill tell him now." Charlie said that and Sam replied very quickly. "Wait you're over there still..?" He asked and Charlie changes the subject quickly and hung up. Hmm. Odd. Sam filled the gas tank and got back into the car. "I just talked to Charlie. I told her we're good and she said she's doing okay." He bit his lip. "She also implied that she was at Jordan's...do you know anything about this?" He asked. His protective brother side was coming out.

Charlie hung up the phone before her brother could question her. "That was Sam. He said him and Ellie are doing well, and they're safe." She told him, relieved. "Also, he said to tell you sorry for leaving him lonely." She couldn't help but laugh at that. "You guys have such a bromance." She joked.

Ellie had to fight the urge to smile. Had she spent the night?. She shook her head, answering his question. "She probably just came over early this morning, not wanting to be alone and stuff. I'm sure it's nothing.". Well, that was bit of a lie. Any bet, they were working things out like Charlie had said she wanted to. Ellie took a sip of her water that she'd bought from inside the gas station deli and then put it back in the drink holder inside the car. "Do you not trust Jordan?" She asked with a slight laugh.

Jordan was glad to hear that Ellie and Sam were doing fine. He looked at the time on his phone.. if he was correct they should reach Washington by the end of the night. He let out a laugh at her bromance comment. Hey, he wasn't gonna deny that. Charlie was still sitting in bed and Jordan took a seat down where he had previously been laying. "So, what do you feel like for breakfast this morning?". Jordan was a natural cook so whatever she'd want, she'd get.

Sam gave a sigh of relief when Ellie said she probably just didn't want to be alone. When Ellie asked about Jordan he shrugged a little. "He admitted he was a dick to her." He said. "And if you were his roommate, you would too. I was his wing man...we helped each other get girls. And Jordan...I just don't think he's relationship material." He explained. "Especially for Charlie." He added and switched his signal to change lanes. "do you trust him?" He asked.

Charlie was still waking up when Jordan came and sat next to her. She realized she fell asleep in her jeans from last night. She looked at Jordan "Hmm, whatever you want. French toast sound good?" She smiled. "I can help with that." She laughed. She suddenly felt guilty for leaving Chris and Alex alone. "I was thinking..we should probably check on Alex and Chris. They're probably both a mess." She added.

Ellie bit her lip and listened to what he said. It made sense. If anyone saw his.. other side it could be his room mate. "I kind of trust him.. with Charlie." She said. "He's the first person I met in Kingswood.. so, I know him. He was a dick to her, but I know he wants to make up for it.". Her eyes went out to the window as she watched the scenery racing by as she spoke. "But whether he can stay faithful to her.. that worries me." Ellie admitted.

"Do you think maybe instead we should go out for breakfast with them?" Jordan suggested. He didn't want to ruin the alone time he and Charlie were having but maybe going out and not leaving them alone was a good idea for them. Jordan and Chris had become good friends and neither of them liked Alex.. but they'd have to put that aside.
Charlie called them up and although they didn't want to go, they agreed to. The group met up at a cafe not far from Jordan's apartment block that did a really nice breakfast. After everyone had placed their orders, Charlie filled Chris and Alex in on the phone call she had gotten from Sam earlier on.

Sam looked at Ellie real quick. "She wouldn't talk to me about any of this. And he would barely talk to me about her too." Sam said. "Do you think she's gonna give him another chance?" he asked her. He knew that Ellie knew everything that Charlie would never tell him. "I'm sorry to bug you with this. It just bothers me that I don't know anything."

She peeked to look at him, wondering whether she should tell him or not. "I-I think she is gonna give me another chance." Ellie admitted. Technically, she knew Charlie was going to but he didn't need to know that. "I think it'll be good for her.. I don't like the idea of her worrying about us all the time which she'd do. So, if she gets with Jordan.. at least she'll be focused on something else.. right?"
