It seems such a waste of time, if that's what it's all about.

Annoyed that they didn't have a bike rack, Leo locked his bicycle up to a post. He then walked a little ways to the movie theater. He was a big fan of movies and went to movie theaters a lot but, since he was new in town, he had never been to this particular movie theater.
He walked inside and saw that it looked just like an average move theater. He spotted the ticket booth and got in line. The lines weren't too long, but they had some people in them so at least it wouldn't be too empty.
Although he of knew most of the movies that were out, he didn't have a particular movie he wanted to see. He stood in line and looked at the board of starting times while he waited. That should help him decide. He would just chose a movie that started soon.

Mason had just arrived just in time to catch a late afternoon flick. He entered the carpeted lobby, the smell of freshly popped popcorn and the faint scent of flowers in the air welcoming him warmly. His ears rejoiced to the haphazard drone of the drinking machines, as well as the cluttering of screen doors.
He stood in front of the boards featuring the movie films screened for the day. He was never much of a movie guy, and even if he was one, his selection depended heavily on old classics rather than the new modern ones. Queuing up, he spotted another man, who he thought was having the same trouble as him.
Tapping the guy's shoulder, he whispered cheerfully. "Hey, if you don't mind me asking, any particular movie you're watching?"

Leo spun around to see a guy he didn’t know who looked around his age. Maybe this was a chance to make a new friend. The guy asked if there was a particular movie that he was going to see. "No" he answered. "Just anything that sounds good and is starting soon. You?"
Leo found it odd that this guy had started in on a conversation without introducing himself first. Leo would have introduced himself but, he chose not to because, they were particular in that middle of a conversation so that would be weird.

"I suppose I'm game for anything really. I'm Mason. You are..?"
He presented his name, hesitant of whether he should regret saying it. He extended his hand nevertheless, giving a warm smile. Mason began to notice that the man was around the same age group as him, presenting him an opportunity to finally meet someone who he could talk to freely.
As he scanned the boards, a movie title struck him as interesting. It happened to be a sci-fi movie though, but he figured that it would suit him for the moment. Retrieving his wallet, he looked at the other, speaking.
"Hey umm...that movie looks nice. 'The Chronicles of Sylvester'. Want to check it out?"

"Leo" he answered, silently relived. He took Mason's hand and gave it a gentle shake.
Mason suggested a science fiction movie about dogs and Zombies. It looked like an interesting movie and it started in fifteen minutes, which should be enough time to get to the theater but not have to wait around awhile.
The way Mason had said it, it sounded like he wanted Leo to go with him to the movie. Leo had never gone to see a movie with someone who he had just met, but since they were both as the movie theater then he figured that he might as well.
(I'm not sure if 'The Chronicles of Sylvester' is a real move, but I looked it up on the internet and couldn't find anything about it so I just made something up.)

(The movie doesn't exist in reality. I made it up for the story. )
Mason flashed a smile. "Great! We'll pick that then," he quipped excitedly.
True enough, the movie was actually about a dog named Sylvester who had to save the world from the zombies. Although wierd and morbid, Mason figured that they would at least be able to interact about it after the movie.
Paying for his ticket, he waited for the other, buying some popcorn and drinks. His eyes scanned around the lobby, taking in the atmosphere of the place. His phone now switched off, Mason decided that he could at least unwind and relax for a while.

Leo paid for his ticket and then went to the concessions stand and bought a small thing of popcorn. Luckily there was only a short line and they already had popcorn made, but soon enough ago that it was still fresh.
He met up with Mason and looked at his ticket. "Theater four" he read off of it, although there probably wasn't really a point in reading it out loud.
