The Pizza Hut was absolutely empty. Having a job at the pizza place was usually stressful and it was constantly packed but today, it was like a ghost town. Behind the counter, Ellie started to jam along the music that was playing. She had nothing else to do and she got totally into the song that was playing on the radio - dancing and singing. Someone cleared their throat and Ellie came to a halt. Little had she known that mid song a customer had come into the store. Embarrassment washed over her as he cheeks began a light shade of pink. "What can I get you?" She asked trying to avoid looking he/she in the eye.

Sam put his hand over his mouth and laughed a bit. He would probably be caught doing the same exact thing. "Yeah, can I just have a small pizza? Half cheese half pepperoni?" he asked.

Ellie dared to look up quickly at the boy standing in front of her. She cursed internally at herself. Why did she have to embarrass herself in front of someone so.. good looking?. She smiled, "Sure.". She wrote down his order and placed it on the table for Josh to see. Josh was in charge of making the pizzas - Ellie was just a waitress. "Take a seat. It should be ready soon." She looked at him again when she spoke, this time for longer, her hand motioned towards the set of tables scattered around the room. He looked back one or two years older than herself, Ellie observed. He was attractive of course but not in the boyish cute way she thought Sean had been but in a rugged man kind of way.

"Thanks." he smiled a bit and sat in the corner waiting for his pizza to be ready. "Oh, I forgot to say this is for here. My bad!" he told the waitress. He called his grandparents to come, hoping Charlie would come with. He wanted to surprise her. Suddenly the waitresses name looked familiar. "Ellie?" he read her nametag. "Do you happen to know a girl named Charlie?" he asked her.

She looked up suddenly when she heard him say her name. Wait, this guy knew Charlie?. Ellie nodded, "Do you mean Charlie Hudson? Yeah, she's my best friend. How do you know her?"

Ah, so this was the best friend that charlie mentioned. "I've heard so much about you." he told her. "Sorry, that sounds creepy." he let out a small laugh. "I'm her brother." he smiled.

It took Ellie a moment to process what he had said. She had known that Charlie had a young brother back home that she missed dearly but Charlie had never mentioned that she had an old brother - and an extremely good looking one at that - had she?. Before Ellie got a chance to say anything, almost right on cue Charlie and her grandparents entered the Pizza Hut. Did Charlie know he was in Kingswood?. Ellie waited for her reaction which would be able to answer her question.

Charlie walked into the restaurant with her grandparents who were told to meet 'someone'. Charlie had no idea who this someone could be, which sort of worried her. With her grandma's Alzheimer's and grandpa's health, things weren't looking so good. She walked in with them and saw her brother sitting at a table. "Sam??" she questioned looking at him. She hadn't seen him in..awhile. The last time she saw him was when he left home about a year ago. Charlie walked to the table and sat down with her grandparents. Sam took a deep breathe, he should have known that this wasn't going to be easy. He looked over at Ellie who seemed to be paying attention to the dynamics between all of them. "I met your best friend." he nodded to Ellie. "She's pretty cool." he smiled at her.

Ellie couldn't help but watch on as Charlie and her grandparents approached the table. You could see on her face that it was a surprise to Charlie that her brother was in town but she didn't run up and embrace him as she thought she might. Instead, they sat down in front of him and Ellie could feel the tension between them where she was standing, a few feet away. It made her think, why had Charlie never mentioned this older brother before?

Sam looked over at Ellie, thinking that if she joined them, Charlie might be more likely to warm up to him. "Hey, Ellie!" he called out to her. "Since you guys aren't super busy, why don't you join us?" he asked. He was hoping she'd say yes.

"I should prob-". Ellie was about to say she should probably stay behind the counter just incase but she saw the look on his face and said, "Oh alright.". She took off her apron and sat next to the empty seat next to Sam. Things were incredibly awkward at the table. Why?. She looked at Sam, "So, you're Charlie's brother? That's nice! Are you here for good or just a visit?" Ellie asked him.

"As of right now, I'm here for good." he grinned and looked at Charlie. He couldn't tell exactly how she felt about this news. "So how are things around here?" he said talking to Ellie and Charlie. Maybe Ellie would get her to speak a little.

Ellie waited for Charlie to respond but she didn't. Instead, she sat there in silence, looking at the table. Instead, Charlie's grandfather spoke up about his last bingo match - something that Sam had to act like he was interested in hearing about. "Excuse me, I'm gonna go to the bathroom." She told the table. "Charlie?" Ellie nodded her head towards the bathroom, asking for Charlie to join her. She did.
Once the door had shut behind them Ellie turned to look at Charlie. "Okay, first, why did you not tell me you had an extremely good looking older brother?! and secondly, what is going on with you two? Aren't you happy to see him?" She asked.

This was one subject that was really tough for Charlie. She didn't expect to see her brother this soon, she didn't expect to see him at all. "He left me alone when my parents were fighting..when he left, they split up." she told him. "I have barely talked to him." she admitted. "Minus the few e-mails, 'checking in.' "So I have no idea what he thinks he's doing here." she said a little annoyed. She could take care of her grandparents, she didn't need any help. "and ew." she laughed. "Did you just call my brother hot?" she let out a small laugh, again.

Ellie sighed. So that is why she'd never mentioned him. "Maybe he's here to make up for lost time. He wasn't there then, so maybe he wants to be here for you now.". She smiled with Charlie's 'ew' comment and laughed. "..Maybe."
