Homecoming.

Homecoming came sooner than everyone thought it would. Alex asked Ellie and Charlie went alone; Well, Jake had said he'd see her there, basically keeping her in the friend zone.
Charlie stood off to the side drinking punch, and watching her best friend dancing with her date. Somehow she could help but think how similar this was to when she came to the first dance. Charlie looked to the left of Ellie & Alex to see Jordan and Victoria grinding on each other. She quickly turned away. Charlie would never admit it but the sight of them together still hurt. The song ended and Ellie walked over to Charlie. "Hey, having fun?" Charlie smiled/ smirked. Alex and her were so cute together.

Ellie nodded her head and smiled a bit. "But it'd be better if my best friend was having a good time. What's wrong?". If there was one thing that Ellie could do well it was see through Charlie's fake smiles. Her eyes went around the room when she saw Jordan with Victoria. She looked back at Charlie. "Still not over him, huh?" Ellie frowned.

"Pshhh..whattt?" she said in a higher pitched voice. "I am so over that douche. I don't need him in my life." she said and took a sip of her punch. She looked at the dance floor, and Victoria glared at her. That's just awesome. Charlie thought to herself. Ellie looked at her like she didn't believe any of it. "Honestly, I'm fine." she smiled a bit, to reassure her friend.

She narrowed her eyes seeing right through Charlie's lies. Although this time she decided to just go along with it. "Is Jake coming tonight?" Ellie asked her, taking a sip of her cup of punch.

Charlie sighed a bit. "Uhm, he said he'd 'See me there'." She told her. Honestly, she wasn't gonna get her hopes up. Nothing good ever came from that. "So I'm not sure. But i'm not betting on it." she admitted. "Ellie, I'm fine. Go back to your date." she smiled. "He's much more fun then I am right now." she laughed a bit. it was true.

Ellie rolled her eyes. "As if I'm going to leave my best friend stranded over here alone." "Come dance, have some fun!" She smiled. Ellie knew everything that Charlie had gone through recently with Jordan and she decided some fun was exactly what she needed. "Don't let Jordan have the satisfaction of seeing you down."

Like always, Charlie knew that Ellie was right. "Okay fine." she ended up dragging her out to the dance floor. Charlie really wasn't up for this, tonight and she really wanted to leave. But Ellie was right, If Jordan saw her..he'd get the satisfaction and Charlie couldn't have that. Eventually Charlie eased up a bit and started dancing with..some guy in their class.

Victoria and Jordan decided to take a break from all their dancing and sit down at one of the tables that were scattered around the room. She was mid conversation when she abruptly stopped. Jordan was paying no attention to her, his gaze was else where. She followed it and it of course when right to Charlie. Was he ever going to just get over her?. Victoria decided to take things into her own hands. She waltzed over casually to the punch bowl as if she was getting a cup for herself then she waited. Waited for the perfect time to strike. Once Charlie and Ellie became close enough, she lunged the cup towards her, exploding all over Charlie's dress. "Sorry," She acted apologetic "I tripped!". Victoria smirked. This was no accident and Charlie knew that but that didn't mean everyone else had to.

Charlie was finally letting loose and having a good time dancing with this guy and her best friend, when Victoria threw punch at Charlie. That was it. Charlie was so done trying to be okay with everything, and everyone. All of this was stupid. Charlie took a deep breathe as everyone stared at her..she looked around, then to Victoria and ran to the bathroom. This is it..she decided to go home. Home as in florida.

Ellie followed Charlie to the bathroom and tried to help her clean dress which wasn't very successful. Her dress was light coloured and the punch had stained but she continued to try anyway. "She's such an idiot." Ellie mumbled, annoyed at how Victoria couldn't leave Charlie alone for just one night.

Charlie bit her lip and wiped her eyes. "It's no use it's not gonna come out." she explained. She threw away the towel and looked at herself in the mirror. "You know, she's not gonna stop." She admitted,

Ellie sighed. "She's just insecure about you." "Even though she's a bitch, you can see her feelings for Jordan are real and it must be hard to see her boyfriend be in love with someone else..". Someone else being Charlie. "Sorry, I don't mean it to seem like I'm defending her.". There was no excuse for how Victoria was acting.

"No.. I don't think you are." she told Ellie. "It's just..I think maybe I should go back home for awhile. I need to get out of everyone's way." she explained. That way Jordan could get over whatever they once were, and Charlie's friends wouldn't get tormented. Besides, it's been long enough..her parents were probably gonna have her come soon, sooner or later.

She frowned a bit. Ellie didn't want her best friend to leave but if that's what she thinks is best for her, then she has to do it. "How long for?" She asked her.

"I don't know." she admitted. "Maybe a month or two.." she bit her lip. "I mean, everyone is getting harassed because they're associated with me. & It's literally all because i got involved with some stupid..jock." she explained.
