Charlie had spoken to Jade about the basketball game on this Friday night. Ellie had asked her to go and she was bringing some Alex guy with her. Charlie agreed to go - probably because Jordan would be in the game, Jade thought - but didn't want to be a third wheel so she invited Sean along and she also wanted Jade to go. At first, Jade was sceptic but Charlie pushed the fact that it would put the rumours to bed if she were there being civil and friendly with both Sean and Ellie.
The night of the game had arrived. Jade did the finishing touches of her make up before throwing on a beanie and heading out the door. The ride to the school stadium was only a short one as Jade didn't live far.
"Hey girls." Jade greeted them with her smile on her face when she finally found them in the crowd. At this point in time, everyone was still arriving and so far Ellie and Charlie were the only ones that had arrived.

To say that Ellie was not happy about the tag alongs would be an understatement. She understood why Charlie invited along some people but Sean? Awkward with Alex there - although herself and Sean had agreed to act like normal, so - and Jade? Now Ellie would have to be on her best behaviour not to punch the boyfriend stealing bitch. Jade walked over to the girls all smiles and grins. Ellie ignored her and just sat there shivering at the expectationally cold night. She looked over at Jade briefly to see that the curls in her hair lay perfectly against her neck whilst wearing a top that definitely brought a lot of attention to her boobs. All a ploy for Sean's attention she figured.

Jogging on the spot, Jordan tried to pump himself up. Get himself focused right into the game. Swigging back a mouthful of his energy drink he looked toward the crowd. There was more than usual. It's going to be a good game he thought. He was setting his drink when he locked eyes with a familiar face. Charlie. It was only brief as this time, she broke it off. His gut ached. He couldn't do this anymore. Hurting her was something he didn't like doing and he'd given her enough.. Revenge for rejecting him. Jordan strided towards the bleachers when he was swarmed with cheerleaders. Victoria, Tiffany and their crew.

Ellie's heart went out to her friend when she saw her lock gazes with former love, Jordan. "Don't even worry about him, Char. Just act happy and look you're absolute fantastic self. Let him see that you're happy without him!". Even if she wasn't. He didn't need to know that.
All of the players were called onto the court by their coach for practice before the game started. It was clear to everyone that Jordan's head was far off into the distance. Since he'd noticed that Charlie was there. Ellie sighed wishing their was something she could do to fix things between them. The players went back off the court and sat down on the benches as their opponents arrived. As soon as Jordan approached the bench Vic was there. She grabbed him by the guernsey pulling him in for a kiss that Jordan didn't seem to object. Shit. Ellie's eyes went straight to Charlie who had stopped talking to Jade when she caught sight of the pair lip locking.

Victoria's tongue was down Jordan's throat so fast he didn't even have a moment to breathe. He knew he shouldn't but going along with it but to be completely honest, he was enjoying it. After a few moments of weakness, he backed away but it was too late. Jordan was well aware that by now Charlie or one of her friends will have seen what had just happened. All of his chances with Charlie were now ruined even more so than more. He sat down on the bench, head hanging down, sighing. He quickly looked at Victoria who seemed pretty pleased with herself. This was her plan all along. She wanted Charlie to see. She wanted Jordan to mess up everything. Because when he does, he becomes loose. Ugh, fuck it he thought. May as well go down in flames he mistakenly thought. Grabbing Vic back by the hips, he dragged her with him to the toilets for pre game.. well.. warm ups.

Sean didn't exactly want to go to any basketball game with people he rarely talked to anymore. Before he left, he wouldn't second guess it, and he would have been there with Ellie, side by side, laughing along with everyone at some stupid joke he told. But now, he was completely reluctant, and showed up with a sweatshirt over his head and a frown plastered across his face. He stopped for a moment after entering through the doors, looking up and down all of the bleachers to find Charlie and Ellie and whoever else they invited. He spotted them after a minute, and eventually knew he had to approach them. He walked up to them and waved slightly, hoping they wouldn't make anything awkward.

Charlie's heart broke when she saw Jordan kissing Victoria. She should have seen it coming. But still, she couldn't believe he was doing this when he clearly knew that Charlie was here. Charlie couldn't focus on anything after she saw that. Charlie saw Sean come up and say hello. She was relieved to see him. She gave him a hug, and said hi as well. She wanted to get her mind as far away from Jordan as possible. The game eventually started, and everyone took their seats. Charlie watched the game, and couldn't focus- especially watching Jordan on the court. She turned to Ellie. "I know I said i can handle this..but I really can't." she took a deep breathe and looked at Jordan once again. She needed to get over him.

Ellie frowned. This was so hard on Charlie and Ellie wasn't sure what to say.. Or do. "We need to get you back into the game. Show Jordan and all the guys here that you're ready to move on." "Homecomings your perfect chance. Find a cute guy and ask him to go with you. The only you can move on is if you let other people in on the chance to steal your heart." She smiled.

What Ellie was saying was all great advice, but Charlie didn't know if she could do it. "Ask someone to go?" she asked Ellie. "Maybe.." she bit her lip and thought about it. "No, no you're right. I need to just forget about him." she admitted. She glanced at Jordan on the court. They had a moment early on but it probably meant nothing to him now. Charlie looked at Sean, who seemed a little out of it. "You okay?" she asked him.

Jordan had just gotten to the bathroom with Victoria when he realised the only reason he was doing that was Charlie. He loved her and he was throw her off thinking he did but using girls wasn't the way to do that. Jordan thought of the words to get Victoria to back off but luckily he was saved by the buzzer, signalling for all the players to be on the court. The game was about to start.
After only a few minutes off playing, he got benched. The coach wasn't happy by how he was playing. Neither was Jordan. He couldn't focus. At all. He sat on the bench, arms resting on his knees staring at towards empty space. He had to speak to her. Just for a moment. Jordan got up the courage to get up and walk towards the crowd - it wasn't a surprise, many players went and sat with the crowd while they were benched. Charlie locked eyes with him and she seemed to be in surprise that he was heading in her direction. Once he reached the aisle that she was sitting in, he halted. "Can we go for a walk? I think we need to talk." Jordan asked her nicely. He hoped that she wouldn't reject him. Again.

When Jordan came up to Charlie, it seemed like everyone's eyes were on them. Charlie was frozen, she looked at Sean and Ellie, unsure of what to say. Talking wouldn't hurt, would it? She nodded her head, and got up. "Sure." she said and walked with him.

Jordan felt awkward as all of her friends just stared back at him. He shifted uncomfortably on the spot until she agreed to go with him. They felt the court area and went walking down one of the empty hall ways. It was then at that moment, Jordan realised he hadn't prepared what he was going to say and his throat felt like it was closing up. "I-I think that I owe you an.." Jordan coughed tying to get the words out, "apology.."

Charlie had a mix of emotions. She was nervous, angry, hurt, sad, confused, she didn't really know what this 'talk' was going to do. Charlie nodded her head. "How could you do all of this...?" she asked him and shook her head.

"Because I love you and I was hurt because you didn't feel the same way." He stated simply. Jordan avoided eye contact with her as they walked. "I've told you this happens. When I was in love with Tiffany and she was well.. all Tiffany, I got hurt. I put up my defensive walls and started hurting other people instead. Same goes here."

Charlie was trying to hear him out, and be understanding, but after everything he did to her, she just couldn't."Jordan, I told you I felt the same. But I also told you that I wasn't ready..and I was right about you not being over your ex." she said, obviously meaning Tiffany. Charlie sighed a bit and looked down. "So what made you want to apologize now?" she asked him.
