Everyone has a way that they escape. That one thing that allows you to switch off from the rest of the world. For Ellie, her escape was through her passion. Dancing.
Standing in the middle of the dance studio looking back at her reflection, Ellie wondered how things had changed so much within a year. She thought back to this time last year. Her life was everything she wanted.. to a point. She had her father, she was healthy and had a loving boyfriend Michael. Now, she had no parents, was killing herself from not eating and was heartbroken over losing Sean. Homecoming was coming up and she new that she had no choice but to skip it. Secretly, she'd been dreaming of homecoming since she was a little girl. She dreamt of her mother going dress shopping with her, finding the perfect dress. Her mom would do her hair and cry about how beautiful she looked. Then, her dream date would arrive and take her to the dance. Now, there was no possibility of that ever happening and anything less than that.. would just be a disappointment.
Turning on the music, she let it take over. She didn't think about what she was doing. It flowed through her and the moves just came to her. She was completely in her element. A mistake Ellie often made was that she got so caught up in the dance that she would have her eyes closed. As she opened them she came to a halt as she saw a familiar face looking in, watching her. Crap. She didn't like people seeing her dance. It was personal.

Alex had been to the school once, and the counselor called him to the office to tell him to change some classes. Some were not the one's he signed up for- Which he didn't even notice. He was a bit annoyed. He just learned where the classes were, and now he had to find his way around, all over again. He walked into what he thought was drama class, and saw a girl dancing. He couldn't make out who it was, cause she was pretty far away. He shut the door behind him and the girl stopped dancing. He recognized her. Ellie. "Ellie?" he asked, as she stared at him. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt." he apologized.

She turned to see that it was Alex. She relaxed a bit. At least it wasn't some stranger. Ellie gave him a friendly smile as she turned off the music. "No, no. It's fine." "What are you doing here?" She asked him. He could be rocking up early for the dance class that was scheduled to take place in the next few minutes but he didn't really seem like a dancing type. "You lost?" She giggled a bit.

He was still amazed by her dancing. "You're really good." he told her. She asked if he was lost and he laughed a bit. "Uh, yeah..possibly." He laughed. "I thought this was drama class. Counseling decided to change a lot of my classes." he sighed a bit.

Ellie rolled her eyes at his compliment. "Not really but thanks.". He informed her that he had drama. So did she. "The drama spaces are across the hall." She smiled. Walking up to him she looked at his schedule. "We're in the same class. That teachers new but I've heard all you have to do is rock up and you'll get an A so it should be fine."

"Wow, really? Sounds good." He smiled. "Good to know. Thanks." he told her, and put his schedule in his backpack. "So what other classes are you taking?" he asked her.

Alex got out his schedule, while Ellie grabbed hers. "Hmm, well we have drama together, Chemistry..that's all I see so far." he told her. "Unless they decide to change my schedule again." he said, sarcastically.
