It is January the tenth, in the year two thousand and twelve. The Season Midsummer in the tourist city of Celeste, Queensland, Australia.
The night is balmy after a day of sweltering heat.
Those still awake in the small hours might have noticed a light over the city.

In the morning you may have noticed news reports after waking in your hotel beds, or while preparing for work.

“An unidentified object was captured on security cameras last night over Celeste City.”
The pictures show what at first appears to be a shooting star over the suburbs.
“The object was then sighted heading towards the ocean and exploding into a dazzling show of blue lights.
When asked to comment if enquiries would be made as to what caused the explosion the authorities refused to disclose information.”

Perhaps you thought little of it, the news after all can be known to exaggerate events, and life in Australia rarely suffers a summer catastrophe outside of floods and fires.

You start your day as you always do a cup of coffee breakfast.
You step out the front door ready for work, for school, but realise the day is anything but normal, over the ocean a cloud of red can be seen.
