It was a sunny afternoon, and Keela was bored. She was lying on her couch, watching the blank T.V screen. Near the couch, her one year old daughter, Julia, played with some toys. Keela sat up and wondered what she could do. She wanted to get out of her apartment for a little while. Both she and Julia and still in their PJ and had been since yesterday. Keela had the weekend off and she didn't want to waste it. So getting up she went to her bedroom and pulled out black pants and a striped shirt from her dresser. After putting them on she went to Julia's room and got out a pink outfit.
"Hey, sweetie," Keela said as she sat down near her daughter. "Want to go to the park?" The little girl stared at her mom for a second then clapped her hands. Keela took that to mean "Yes." She quickly dresses Julia, then got out the baby bag from the closet near the door. Soon, they were ready to leave. Keela locked the door and left.
A while later, they were at the park. Keela brought Julia over to the swings and out her in one of them. As Keela pushed Julia, she looked around the park. There weren't many people at the park, which was just fine with her.

Zan skipped threw the park, followed by his dog Keiko. He used to need to use a leash on Keiko, but he no longer needed to. Keiko was a very loyal and well behaved dog.
He stopped, picked up a stick and threw it. It landed in the middle of the playground (which was a little off of where he was aiming) about ten feet in front of a women and a small child at the swing set. Keiko ran to the stick and stopped to pick it up.

Julia was laughing as Keela pushed her. Keela was smiling until she a large dog near the swing set. Keela stoped the swing and stared at the dog. She liked dogs, but she didn't know if this one was friendly or not, and she didn't want Julia to get hurt.

Zan saw that the women seemed nervous around Keiko. He called over to her. "Don't worry. He won't hurt you." Meanwhile, Keiko had picked up the stick and trotted over to him. He took the stick and threw it in a different direction. This time, it landed on a grassy area near the playground. Keiko ran past the women and child to go and get it.

When Keela heard a voice, she spun her head around to find the source. She saw a young male standing a little ways off. She smiled at him. "Oh, I just didn't know if he was friendly or not." She watched him throw a stick, and the took off after it. She let go of the swing and let Julia rock back and forth.

"Well madam, it's true that some dogs usually aren’t, but Keiko here is usually friend, even to strangers. The only time he isn't is if they do something threatening." He remembered Keiko getting angry at other dogs because they were angry at him for no reason, and the time he got into a fist fight and Keiko attacked the guy he was fighting with.
Keiko picked up the stick and trotted towered Zan. On the way, he went in between Julia's swing and the one next to it and right past Keela. "It looks like he doesn’t find you a threat" Zan said, "but I don't see any reason why he should."

Keela nodded. "That's good to know." Julia seemed to finally realise there was a dog nearby, and pointing towards the dog, said, "Puppy!" Keela smiled at her daugher, then took her out of the swing. She turned to the younger boy, asking, "Is it O.K if she-" she nodded at Julia "-pets your dog?"

"Yeah it's fine" he replied. He walked up to them and Keiko followed. He often had people asking to pet Keiko and he was always glad to say yes. He remembered when he and his dad first go Keiko. He was the first dog he ever pet. He had loved petting him and felt like he could pet him forever.

Keela bend down to let Julia pet the dog. Julia smiled and run her fingers through the dog's fur. Keela looked up at the boy. "By the way, I'm Keela."

"Well it's nice to meet you Keela" he said, extending his hand for a shake. "I'm Zan." He wondered who the little girl was and what her relationship to Keela was, but he didn't ask.
