"She's gone, what do you mean she's gone?" Chris said storming through the doors of the Mankelow house with Charlie, Alex, Jordan, Sam, Jade and Victoria right behind him. Earlier on in the night he'd gotten a tearful phone call from Ellie's little sister Abby explaining that Ellie had gone missing and no one had been able get in her contact with her for hours.
"I-I contacted the police. They got a photo of her but until 24 hours has passed, they can't search for her." Abby explained, tears in her eyes, as they all took a seat in her living room. Chris scrolled through his contact list until he found Ellie's number. He put it to his ear and tapped his hands against his knees as it dialled. There was no answer. It went to voice mail. He groaned and threw his phone down on the ground. "All of her stuff is still in her room. She didn't take anything with her so I don't know if she left.. or if she got.. taken." Abby told them.
(Ellie's gonna be gone for a while - the beach was the last time they had seen her)

Jade and Ellie had their issues but overall but in no way had she wanted anything like this to happen to her. Her heart went out to her sister who had gone through a lot over the last year. "I'm sure there's an explanation for this." Jade said trying to reassure and comfort Abby anyway she could. "We'll find her. I promise.". Her eyes went around the room. There were so many people who cared for her so much. If this was a case of her taking off, what could she possibly be running from that she told no one about?

Charlie was freaking out. She knew Ellie had been acting so strange at the beach, but she didn't understand why. And leaving couldn't have been because of Alex, because he didn't do anything. Everyone was on their cell phone's trying to reach her, but it only went to voicemail.
Ellie. Where are you?! Everyone is freaking out. Just text us to let us know you're okay. she sent the messaging hoping she'd answer a text rather than a phone call. Charlie could see Abby sobbing out of the corner of her eye and went up to her, and hugged her. "It's going to be okay. i promise." she told her. "Your sisters fine..she probably just had to getaway for a bit." she explained and noticed Ellie's computer on the counter. "I have an idea." Charlie said and opened Ellie's laptop, searching for anything that could clue them in on where she went. Then she saw an IM conversation pop up from some dude. Some guy explaining that he knew where she was, and he knew her friends. This was too freaky. "Uh...guys.." she said, and motioned them over to the computer.

The group all huddled around Ellie's laptop as they looked at the IM that had popped up. There were threats and everything. This person knew things about Ellie and all of her friends. "Do you think this is why she left?". She took a deep breathe, "...or who she was taken by."

Charlie was a worst-case-scenario thinker, but she couldn't think that way right now. She could not believe that her friend was taken. "I think that's why she left...she didn't want us to be a part of this." she took a deep breathe. Maybe if she lured him in...said she was Ellie's friend, and told him to meet her. Maybe he would. She thought to herself. "We have to show this to the police."

She shook her head. "Look, it might be a bit more complicated than that. What if she's in danger? Showing this to the police could make things worse. If this crazy stalker guys hears about this or sees it on the news, she or one of us could be killed to keep us quiet." "Do you really want to risk that?"

"What if she's already dead?" Victoria blurted out. "I'm not trying to be a bitch or anything but it's a possibility that you should all consider before you go on your 'I am a hero, I'll save her' mission."

Charlie listened to what Jade had to say..and then Victoria butted in. "She is NOT dead." Charlie told her, then looked back to the computer. Charlie thought about Jade said and realized her plan before was the only way she could figure out where Ellie was. "Then what else can we do?" she looked to everyone, pretending to not already have a plan. They couldn't know anything.

"I don't know but we have to do something. She's in danger and she needs us. We can't just sit around and wait." Chris said with a sigh. "No matter what, I will do whatever it takes to find her."
--two months later--
"No matter what, I will do whatever it takes to find her." It felt like just yesterday that Chris had spoken those words in the Ellie's living room the night she had gone missing. In reality, two months had passed and here they all were gathered once again in the very same spot. Since Ellie had gone missing not a lot had changed for her friends. Jade and Sam had become closer friends as had Chris, Charlie and Alex. Sam and Charlie had still barely spoken but he was working on it. Jordan broke up with Victoria.. finally but she was still hanging around like a fly. Throughout the changes, one thing remained constant, none of them knew what had happened to Ellie. The police had done everything they could to try and find her and her stalker that they assumed was with her. Charlie had even tried to lure him out. None of it had worked. Nothing. Everyone else in the town had moved on. They'd all assumed that she was and dead. They had mourned her and moved on. Yet their group was stuck. Unable to move forward or backwards.

Charlie was going insane trying to find Ellie. As was Chris and Alex. Alex seemed so heartbroken, and Charlie couldn't believe this was actually happening. It couldn't be true..I mean how is this possible? The group was in starbucks- which kind of became their normal hangout, and Charlie was still searching through Ellie's computer. Trying to find IP addresses, emails...ANYTHING that could help. Luring the guy out didn't work, but Charlie was going to try again. She face the computer so only she could read the screen..the guy had just went online. Charlie typed Meet me. Kingswood. she typed and waited to see if he'd reply. He didn't. I'm her best friend. she typed. Jade mentioned that he wanted to hurt her, and her best friends..so she thought it she mentioned she was close to Ellie, he'd be interested. And he was. Charlie closed the lap top and took a deep breathe. "So..anyone want a drink? It's on me." she said, acting completely normal.

A few heads nodded and Jade and Charlie went up to get some drinks and then brought them back to the table. Jade's fingers were fiddling around her paper cup. She'd never forgive herself if they never found Ellie and hatred was the way that the pair had ended things. "Do you believe the things that people are saying? Y'know that she's de-". Jade's gaze fell out the window. Her words trailed off, unable to finish her sentence. Across the parking lot Jade saw a girl looking exactly like Ellie getting out of her car wearing jeans, a lacey top and stiletto heels on her feet - an outfit Ellie would often wear. The only difference was the hair. It had been cut a little shorter than she'd had before and it contained caramel highlights throughout and on the tips. But all in all, it was her. It was definitely no doubt about it, Ellie Mankelow.

Charlie had it all planned out. The guy had agreed to see her, and she was going to find out where Ellie was. That was until Jade stopped mid-sentence. "What?" Charlie asked and followed Jade's gaze to a girl who looked exactly like Ellie. "Oh my gosh." she said under her breathe and got up to go talk to her. "Uhm...Ellie?" she tapped the girls shoulder. The girl looked just like Ellie, just with a few minor changes.

Walking into Starbucks, Ellie waltzed over towards the counter and ordered a drink. Beside her, she felt gazes on her and Charlie walked up and approached her. She bit her lip then look at Charlie as if she didn't know her. She put a confused look on her face. "I'm not Ellie..? You must have me confused with someone else. Sorry." then her eyes fell back to the counter top. During Ellie's disappearance, for her own safety she had to get a whole new identity. Luckily her cousin - the hacker - was able to hook her up with all the legal documents that she would need to pass as new girl to Kingswood, Sophia Wintermore. She cut her hair, dyed it darker and put in caramel highlights. For her friends safety, they couldn't know that she really was Ellie. They were better of thinking she were dead, mourning then moving on.
The barrister handed her drink to her and she gave him a slight smile to say thank you. She spun on her heels getting ready to leave when she noticed that Charlie was still looking at her. "Look, is there something I can do for you?" "Because I really don't know who the hell this Ellie girl is."

Charlie didn't know what to think. This girl looked just like Ellie. And she knew she didn't have a twin. "N-no. You just look exactly like her.." Charlie was positive that this was Ellie, but I guess she could be wrong. "Our friend went missing two months ago..and you showing up here all the sudden. It's just surprising, that's all." she told her.

Classic Charlie. She would never just accept it. Ellie frowned and clutched onto her coffee that was being held in her right hand. "I'm sorry about your friend.". Her eyes went over to the group sitting around a table. They had all previously been staring at her but ducked their heads when she locked eyes with them. She looked back towards Charlie. "I'm Sophia by the way," She said introducing her new self to someone who had previously been her best friend.
