"I moved here a couple of days ago.. but it's been almost impossible to get settled in. Like, how is it my fault that I look like some girl who's gone missing and is most likely dead?". Sophia sighed, going on with the insensitive act. She saw the guy look towards Charlie and Chris and they were staring back as if they knew him. Sophia looked around the room and spotted Jordan.. so was this.. Alex?. "You're the one I met the other day, aren't you?" She said. Alex's head spun back towards her when she spoke. "The one that.. at the park. You didn't say much.. just that you loved her.". She reached forward to raise his mask and as she had though, it was Alex looking back at her. "Did you mean it? Did you really love her? Or, did you just mean as a friend way?" Sophia asked him.

Alex nodded his head, feeling guilty that he was one of the people, who made Sophia feel this way. When Sophia recognized him, he paused to think about what he wanted to say. He had to be careful. "yeah.." he nodded his head. "That was me." he looked down for a moment, thinking she would reprimand him for fooling her. Alex immediately looked back at her, when she asked if he loved Ellie. "I meant it. I really do love her." he said, and a half smile appeared on his face. "I just didn't get a chance to tell her." he admitted, as his smile faded.

A small smile came to his face and hers too when he spoke. "I don't think you had to. When you look at me.. I know you're seeing her and the love is all over your face.". Sophia took another sip of her punch and placed the now empty cup on the table beside her. She realised that he loved her and she wasn't going to let go. In all honesty, she didn't want him to.. she loved him.. but he had to. Her eyes went from Alex to Charlie and Chris who for the moment seemed distracted in conversation. Sophia notified Alex that she was going to the bathroom and she left him standing by the punch bowl.
Discreetly she grabbed a dark blue and purple masquerade mask that was sitting on a table just near the door and ducked outside through the bathroom window. Sophia unlocked her new car and grabbed out a long coat that was sitting on the back seat. Putting it on covered all of her costume perfectly. She placed the mask on and tied her hair up so that her highlights - that she had gotten done for the Sophia version of her - were hidden. Once she was satisfied that at first glance, you wouldn't notice it was Sophia, she entered the hall from the back entrance. Luckily the place was rather dark due to it being spooky halloween-ish so that made her entrance less noticeable. Immediately she walked over towards where Alex was standing and grabbed his hand. She could feel him freeze under her touch and she smiled as if to try and reassure him. "You can trust me." She said softly. Ellie walked with him to the door she had entered in before shooting a look back at Chris and Charlie. They were too distracted by conversation to notice Alex and a masked stranger walk outside.
"We don't have long," Ellie told him. The pair were now standing outside in an empty ally way. "A couple of minutes max before Charlie notices that you're gone and she can't see me.". The confusion was very apparent on his face and before he could say anything, she lifted her mask to expose herself. Ellie hoped that him seeing her wouldn't raise the thoughts that she was Sophia. Last he'd known, Sophia was in the bathroom.. he hadn't seen her leave and her clothing and hair were completely different. "It's me." She said as she walked towards him. Once the distance between them was closed she placed her arms around his neck and kissed him softly. He unfrozen from his rigid position and kissed her back, his hands now gently resting on the small of her back. "I can't be here long... I just wanted to you know that I'm okay and that it's okay for you all to move on from it. Mourn me and let go, Alex." "Whatever you guys think you know is happening.. it's so much more complicated..". Her eyes fell to the ground, trying to stop herself from tearing up. "This will be the last time you see me. This is goodbye..". It had to be said. It had to be done.

Alex froze when a girl randomly approached him, but her smile told him that she wasn't trouble. Alex was confused as to where the girl was leading him, but continued to follow her..and they ended up in an ally. Alex was confused when the girl began to say they didn't have much time..much time for what? He listened intently until he realized the girl was Ellie. "It's you?!" he basically gasped and hugged her tightly. He let go and kissed her. He couldn't believe it was really her. When she continued talking, it didn't make sense. "W-what? Mourn you? This makes no sense.." he said, completely confused. "No, you just came back. I'm not going to let you go again." he told her, holding her hand.

She sighed. He wasn't listening. He wasn't understanding. He took her hand and she held on his tightly. "I can't be here anymore, Alex. All of you need to let go and move on." "Just do that for me, please?". Ellie moved away from his hold and looked at the time on the clock in the middle of the square. "I have to go. Charlie will be out soon. Just, please, do this for me. Know that I am okay and I want this for you." She told him. Ellie gave him a peck on the peck on the cheek, whispered goodbye and she was gone.
Right on time as soon as Ellie snuck back into the bathroom she saw Charlie walking out to Alex. Good. That gave Ellie enough time to change back to Sophia and come out from the bathroom as if she'd been out for ages. Once she was ready, she threw the evidence in the boot of her car and got a cup of punch. Charlie, Chris and Alex were still outside. She knew Alex would tell them that he saw her but hopefully, a goodbye would be the closure he needed. But, she couldn't live on hopes. The next thing that would be done was going to be more harsh and hurtful than her friends deserved but it was the only way. It would be the faking of her own death. She looked at the time. Ellie had a cousin who was a policeman. She begged him to go along with it. He would report that a street or two away from the hall, Ellie had been hit by a car. He'd witnessed it and rushed to her side. She wasn't breathing. He went to get an ambulance but the man trying to car jumped out, and knocked the policeman to the ground. By the time, he'd gotten up, the man had taken the body and drove. But, their was no doubt about it. Ellie would be reported dead. By this time, her fake death would have already been done. It would be only minutes before her cousin would report it in and it would be all over the news. She knew they would try and find the killer.. and Ellie's body but they would never be able to. Her friends would move on and it would be put as a cold case.

Jordan, the host of the party, was the first to hear of the news. Ellie's sister was contacted and she rang Jordan, asking him to tell her friends as Abby couldn't bare to break the news to them. He couldn't believe what he'd just heard. His heart felt like it was ready to burst out of its chest. Eventually, he found the group just outside the back entrance. He had a few tears in his eyes. Jordan, the one that never showed emotion. He and Ellie were barely friends.. but he'd grown up with her. "E-Ellie was here..". They didn't seem surprised.. which surprised Jordan. He explained to them what Abby had told him. She'd visited Jordan's party, ran off and just a few streets away got hit by a car, she wasn't breathing and the driver drove off with the body before the policeman that was there could do anything. "She's dead..". His eyes were on Charlie the whole time he spoke.

(Alex) Alex stood there, still confused. "No don't leave!" he yelled after her, but it didn't stop her. Alex explained that he saw Ellie, and Charlie explained that Sophia must be Ellie now. It made perfect sense.
A few moments later, Jordan came outside, with a shocked look on his face. She could see his eyes were wet, and this made Charlie sick to her stomach. "W-what?" she asked, barely being able to breathe. "No..no she can't be. She was just here." she said, now crying. She didn't want to believe that Ellie was dead..she couldn't let herself believe that. She looked over at Alex, who was trying to wipe his eyes, but it didn't help. The tears kept coming. So..sophia really isn't Ellie. He thought to himself. "We have to figure out who did this." he said, pissed off now. His emotions were all over the place. Charlie was still crying-No, bawling her eyes out. "This can't be happening." she struggled to get out as tears were streaming down her face. She looked over at Chris. She couldn't imagine how he felt right now. His eyes were slowly filling up with water, and she could see that he was heartbroken. This wasn't fair.

Jordan placed his hand on the small of her back, trying to comfort her. He didn't care how horrible things had been with them lately. They'd just lost a friend. She'd just lost her best friend. "I'm gonna shut down the party.." He said to them. "And then.. if you want, you guys can come back to my place.. I-I don't think it'd be good for any of you three to be alone tonight.". They were the three Ellie cared about more than anything.

Charlie didn't know what to think, or what to do right now. She tried to catch her breathe, but she couldn't. The tears just kept coming. Everyone agreed that they probably shouldn't be alone..although that's all Charlie wanted to do. "You're probably right." Alex said, finally speaking. Jordan explained what had happened, and shut down the party. Everyone was dead silent as they walked out..shocked at the news they just heard.

The news flooded the hall like a virus. Jordan shut down the party and everyone understood why. The guilt was filling up Sophia. Ellie was now dead.. and there was no going back. She never even got the chance to tell Alex that she loved him when she should have. Sophia was now standing in the hall on her own when Charlie, Chris, Jordan and Alex the empty hall and immediately she grabbed her things ready to go. "I know that considering how I look.. I'm the last person you want to see.. but I just wanted to give you my condolences.". They barely even looked at her when she spoke. She frowned, grabbed her clutch bag and walked out the door. Sitting in the car, her hands were gripping the steering wheel so hard her knuckles were going pale white. She was hurting everyone she loved.

Once the place was empty, Jordan finished cleaning up the hall and then drove himself and the other three back to his apartment. Sam wasn't home for the night so Charlie was able to relax.. well, a bit. They all sat down in the living room. No one knowing what to say. Jordan got a beer out of the fridge and sculled down half in one go. "Charlie, you said earlier, 'she was just here' ..did you guys see her?" Jordan said, breaking the silence.

Charlie looked at Sophia, and bit her lip to keep from crying. "Thanks.." she let out a bit, as she walked out the door. The group went to Jordan's place, pretty silent. Jordan asked Charlie what she meant, and she tried to speak. "Alex saw her before the accident..she was at the party, and then i guess she got hit." she said, barely able to get it all out.

Jordan felt his stomach turn. Alex had seen her? Moments before her death?. He got up and made everyone some tea to try and calm them down and then they all went to bed. Jordan slept on the couch and let Charlie take his bed, while Alex and Chris took Sam's. He wouldn't mind.
The next morning, Jordan woke up early and decided to be nice and make them all breakfast.. They kinda deserved it. He cooked up some eggs, bacon, and pancakes and putting it on the table with fresh juice. He then knocked on their doors to tell them that there was breakfast on the table if they wanted some.

Alex was surprised that Jordan was being so nice about everything, but considering what just happened..it made sense. Alex barely got any sleep and neither did Chris. They spoke a little bit about what happened, but they didn't really want to talk about it. The next morning, everyone got out of bed..except Charlie. Alex knocked on her door again, but she wouldn't come out. Alex and Chris walked over to the table and started eating. "I don't think Charlie's gonna be out anytime soon." he said, and grabbed a plate of food. "Thanks." Alex said. "this is cool of you." he said, taking a bite of his food.

Jordan served up a plate of breakfast and brang into his room where Charlie was. He placed it on the bedside table. "You should eat, even if it's just a little bit." He told her. She didn't move or make any action to acknowledge he was even in the room. He sighed and then returned to the table where the boys were. "Did you guys get any sleep?" He asked, taking a bite of the crispy bacon on his plate.
